Players that make a ton of money sometimes might not cost as much as people think, cap teams might have to take less and with only certain teams able to take on that money, it makes it harder.

Anyone else can go but to get a guy like Malkin or Perry or Hall it would cost one of those three...

I'd much rather go for Stamkos and also try and trade for a cap strapped player on a team in need of space. Ala' Rick Nash, Toffoli, Johansson, Gallagher etc.

Stamkos is the number 1 goal no doubt about it. I doubt the Kings move Toffoli but Pearson might be on the move. I like Perry.

Na... That could come back to bite us down the line with Reinhart or whoever we draft this year... To get Nash (if he'd accept coming here) I personally only think it would cost a 3rd a lower prospect (Baptiste or Estephan) and Ennis or Girgensons. Maybe even less than that...

Toffoli would probably cost our 2nd plus Bailey but I'd still do it in a heart beat

I've considered taking on Browns contract if we could get Toffoli or Muzzin in the deal as well. I know Brown's deal is awful but if we can get one of the other two in it it might be easier to stomach

IMO, the Sabres should keep their pick at 8, and play out the season and see where they are.

They are not in a position to make anymore big trades right now. I know everyone wants the playoffs this year but not enough assets and they are not competing for the cup this year.

Wrong. They do that we're right back where we are this year... talking about what player will drop to us at 8-10th overall. We have a bunch of offensively challenged slow 3rd liners trying to play 2nd and 1st line roles and 1 and half good defenceman. Murray will trade for a top four D and sign or trade a top 4 or 5 winger

Toffoli is off limits but I mentioned before taking Brown if we could get Muzzin. Brown is a hard contract to take on.
