The Phil's been awfully quiet for a while. I'm calling a streaking wrister from that goober beating Martin Jones far side tonight. - Victoro311
he could have had 2 last game... he's right there poised for his 10th of the post season. |

He's incredibly hot. He's either in second or third on this team in goals. He and Sidney Crosby are making a late push for Conn Smythe if we were to win. |

He's tied with Sid for third on team in goals. Bonino is pushing for Conn Smythe too. #BoninoBoninoBonino |

Pen are 8-0 this season (including playoffs) when he scores, he has 4 goals in his last 3 games, he looks to be really gelling with Geno, I think he's the fastest skater and hungriest looking player on the team.
Hopefully he's cleared to play tonight. |

And people laughed at me when I said Rust could play with a dipsydoodley playmaker like he did in college. The Malkin unit has visible chemestry these days and a lot of it is what Geno and Rust have developed. |

Similar to Vlasics nickname "Pickles" did we just happen upon a nickname for Rust -- "Potatoes?" - brienstel
I'm still calling him Rusty or Iron man (rust > iron oxide > Iron Man)
I just liked that someone typo'd his name Russett & it made me think of potatoes. |

SJ is a very good team. That said, if the Pens play an entire 60 minutes, not just 40, SJ wouldn't stand much of a chance. Agree ... the can't match our speed. They didn't play a team in the play-offs that comes close to matching our speed. We did play a team in the play-offs that mirrors SJ though in many regards - Washington. - Oneonta Penguin

My thought's exactly... The Pens have beaten teams quicker than SJ and more physical than SJ.
I get that 90% of what's written about the Pens is just unbridled hate but at some point you need to stop calling them the "hottest team in the league" and start calling them the best team in the league.
Pittsburgh plays a suffocating road style away from Consol... I think tonight is a must win for SJ because the longer this series goes the more the Pens speed starts to break down even the best D men... Just look at Hedman and Carlson etc. |

I've been praising their road game since February. I like their road game better. I think some of their best outing in the playoffs and regular season have been on the road. |

I've wanted to bust out the Kuhnackle-Geno-Rust line forever. Still feel like that could be a decent line next year, maybe swap Kuhn and put Scott Wilson in. Good thing Kunitz is Kunitz again |

To this day I still think Brian Burke told Treiviling to offer Engelland 3 years 2.9 million(meaning 966k per year) and Treiviling misunderstood and offered him 3 years @ 2.9 million per- Engelland faxed the offer back before the ink was dry...
It's the ONLY way that contract makes any sense to me at all - TheGame316
You are not alone in that thought proccess. Especially since 966K a year was a decent raise for him at the time. |

Just saw that Cole was a -17 before he started getting scratched in January. Since he became a regular again, he's +22 - jchst22
Part of that was also being on the top pairing with Letang (too much for him) and then bottom pairing with Scuds (kills everyone but Depres). |

Just a question Bernie from an unbiased viewpoint, when contact is made to a players head after the puck has gone (what is it again .6 seconds??), & there is an injury, why shouldn't there be a suspension if it was deemed foul play? There was a penalty wasn't there so it was deemed to be an illegal hit? Just a question not looking for an argument. At what point does an illegal hit earn a suspension - especially in this day an age of concussions? Remember Letang was suspended for a game. - Aussiepenguin
Well I did say it was a blindside hit but, initial point of contact was not the head!!!

Oh piss off. If it was the Caps series there would of been a suspension without doubt. No one around here has talked about that hit for a few pages. Gotta love a Philth fan popping in and starting it up again. - MattStrat

Do you know how to comment without insulting the entire article? Cause, you female doged about more than one part, then ranted like a 12 year old girl who's best friend looked at a boy she might one day want to ask her out.
Grow up kid. |

"A long, straight bruise above his kidneys still hasn’t faded, the product of an unfortunate hit into an open bench door against Minnesota last November". That's a quote from an SI article regarding Maatta.

So many people deserve it. I would gladly forego giving the Conn Smythe to any one person if it were an option. |

Makes sense for his diminished speed. At least its likely nothing serious, just needs to do nothing for a week or so to heal... after the finals. |
