Anyone think that if Shultz gets much more than the Cole deal, thats pretty damn big for him?

Yeah, hes looking great... in the 3rd pair. Cole, was actually getting 2nd and top pairing minutes due to all of our injuries, and looked good.

Teams are aware of his easier competition, and yes, hes an offensive monster for possession and playstyle.

I think if he gets more than 3 mil a year, thats a gamble of a contract.

edit - more
I hope we keep him... and honestly, I'd try to trade both Daley and Kunitz. Kunitz, for the obvious reasons... Daley... for 2 reasons. We won't keep him after next season (sorry Trevor), and coming off a broken ankle... he might be a few steps slower for good. Not trying to write off Daley, but throwing out the possible reality when its an injury like that, and hes starting to get older himself as well.

We are very very shallow on D in this organization. Funny, since we drafted nothing but them in the early rounds for years. Not sure we can trade one of our better one's too boot.

So, Braun is out tonight due to the death of his father in law. He didn't play well in game one, but he is a lot better than any of those third D pair guys. That means Dillon or Polak move up to play with Pickles and Tennyson in? That is messing with two D pair.

I thought the report said that he was taking a leave of absence for a day AFTER the game.

All went Radulov/Kostitsyn last night and missed curfew on the eve of a playoff game. To prevent this from happening in the future curfew will be extended to 4am.

Unless some new info came out he's playing tonight and leaving team after game 2. With game 3 Sat he won't miss any games. If he is out tonight, then that's a pretty big loss even though Sid abused him game 1

The most exciting thing about this year is that Crosby is still healthy and full of energy.

Earlier in the year when everyone was calling out Crosby, I commented that it was a good thing as it seemed he was refining his defensive game and not getting banged up. This is the best we have ever seen Sid in the playoffs right now and I really think it is a big part.

Every other year he has picked the team up on his back and gone 100% every night, even early in the season, going into the playoffs banged up. This year he has something left in the tank and looks like he is on a mission. He is going to put up 3 points tonight, wouldnt be surprised if it came by way of 3 goals. LGP~!

Me too. These next 12 hours will be brutal.(freeze me) What a blessing that it's June and our favorite team is still playing hockey and for the ultimate prize.

Game day = slow motion day.

I try to be as busy and productive as possible...and every now and then I forget about the game for a short period of time.

Your reporting is so biased that you lose all credibility. The "blindside" hit? Ok, yeah it was from behind. Re-watch the play. He makes contact with his chest first, the head was secondary and only happened because Rust was leaning and was lowered. Every time a Penguins player gets touched you want a suspension. And as part of the second part of your paragraph, yes the league did review the hit, and they felt no supplementary discipline was needed. Game 1 was a great game and the third period was awesome. I hope we have more games like that in store coming up.

Just do what I do! 10am games jump on me so quick due to work, & I usually have to beg, borrow, steel or just plain go MIA to get to a job where I have full uninterrupted phone reception (& a client that 'understands'), which happens every 2nd game! I'm actually doing a big job where the clients son in law is an American & guess who he goes for? Living over here pretty sure he's on a flight in a few days!

Just a question Bernie from an unbiased viewpoint, when contact is made to a players head after the puck has gone (what is it again .6 seconds??), & there is an injury, why shouldn't there be a suspension if it was deemed foul play? There was a penalty wasn't there so it was deemed to be an illegal hit? Just a question not looking for an argument. At what point does an illegal hit earn a suspension - especially in this day an age of concussions? Remember Letang was suspended for a game.

Oh piss off. If it was the Caps series there would of been a suspension without doubt. No one around here has talked about that hit for a few pages. Gotta love a Philth fan popping in and starting it up again.

I woke up today feeling really pissed that Marleau didnt get a game for that hit on Rusty. If he isnt able to go tonight thats a big blow to us and with it being a direct hit to the head identical to Letang's hit (which garnered a suspension), the league should have taken a closer look at it. Bunch of (frank)ing ass clowns.

Either way, LGP tonight boys. They cant hang with our speed and lets remind them of that all night tonight!

Cool. Well I hope that same hit happens tonight on Pavelski since its all clean and legal. And I hope he has to sit out for just as long as Rust. Here's to "clean" hockey plays!
