The Canucks have no succession plan to Hank and Dank... none at all.

The Sedins, Burrows, Higgins, and Vrbata are all either gone now or gone very soon. The only significant prospects coming up to replace them are Horvat, Virtanen and Dubois/Tkachuk.

The goaltending is just plain scary.

Boeser, Demko, Hutton, Baerstchi, Tryamkin, and even Gaunce are looking like solid up-and-comers. They also still have Edler, Tanev, and maybe Hamhuis on the backend to shelter their guys. If they can bring in an elite talent at forward through the draft, I think they're not that far off.

But again, this doesn't change the fact that Edmonton's failures have been far greater. You speak of no succession plan when Edmonton's plan has been throw them in the ocean and hope they can swim. This team has had no plan for the 5 years prior to this year.

Spezza and Chara for Yashin (nuff said)

Dude he traded Roberto Luongo and Ollie Jokinen and drafted Rick Dipietro #1 overall all at the 2000 draft. Imagine if he held Luongo and drafted Gaborik or Heatley #1. Holy poop I would want to punch the man in his fat face if I was an Isles fan.

Demco, Who is the oilers future goaltender??

Fixed

Subban can't yet be called a substantial prospect that you should count on. Same goes for Stecher in the event you bring him up.

We have Cam Talbot who is under control for at least three years plus Laurent Brossoit who is equal if not better than Demko.

I will give you Hutton but the rest are "B" and "C" level prospects. Canuck fans have wanted to ditch Edler for the past two seasons. Tanev looks legit and Hamhuis is old balls think Andrew Ference.

He's certainly viewed better. He's a higher end prospect who just finished producing ridiculous numbers in a collegiate league. Brossoit has put up decent numbers in the AHL but nothing exceptional. Sure Demko's less seasoned, but if that's what you're going to use then Frank Vatrano is a better prospect than Dubois.

How is Boeser a B or C prospect? Edler is still a quality top-4 Dman. Just being forced to play top pairing minutes. Hamhuis is at least currently far more effective than Ference pretty much ever was. That is, however, in the present.

Subban was my troll prospect, some guys have crowned him king, but I doubt he plays 20 games in the NHL in his career.

Ah. I mean, he's a possibility with the numbers he put up as a rookie pro, but I'd count on him in the same way I'd count on Musil; I wouldn't.

Joe Pavelski. Your point being? Sometimes high end prospects don't work out but that doesn't stop them being seen as high end prospects. Should we devalue Dubois or Tkachuck simply because Yakupov is a failure of a top-end 1st pick?
