Where lums' theory fails is with Vancouver. Benning will glady throw in a 2nd riounder along with the 5th to get the 8th and bogo.

Because he is basically saying Bogosian is so bad that you HAVE to take him if you want the 4th overall pick which I think is a little BS. He put up decent offensive numbers and he has a bigger body. I'm not crazy about his defensive cover abilities and I think he is over paid for the term he has left. That being said - contract aside, he's a solid second pairing defenceman on the Leafs, Sabres or Oilers.

Maybe you have a point though. Murray should call up Benning and ask for the 5th overall and Hansen for Bogosian and our 8th

Rielly and Gardiner are solid first and second line pieces. Lots of depth from the kids, plus Zeitsev who looks like he should be second line at least. Add in a 1RD and they'll be in good shape.

Plus you don't get better by adding trash...

Bogosian is better than anyone on your roster besides Riley and Gardiner. Bogosian isn't trash. He's a solid 2nd pairing defenceman who is over paid

Gotta be honest, I think that he's quite overrated. He's one of the old-school "big and blocks shots" type of D, but I'd much rather have guys who can handle the puck better. IMO he's 4/5D being paid like a 2D... that's not how you make your team better.

His contract was with Winnipeg. I don't think he's here for the duration of the years remaining. On a team like St. Louis or Chicago yes he's probably bottom pair but on your team or currently ours. He's a second line guy.

True, but now that contract is with you. It may prove hard to move him in a few years unless he shows some other facets to his game beyond being Luke Schenn with a couple extra bells and whistles...
