They interviewed chiarelli during the intermission of London's 2nd game of the MMC. He said the obvious about being open to trade options etc, and briefly talked about scouting eligible D, but then he went on to mention that the Knights had a really really good option that would be available at 4 as well, and his eyes kind of lit up.
It was obvious that he was impressed with what he saw out of tkachuk, and I can only imagine his stock rose with his performance over the last 2 games, all while playing with a high ankle sprain.
my guess is the oilers draft tkachuk. - vermie22
... if the Oilers draft another winger .... Barring there being no deals to be made, I think they'd be insane not to move that pick for a GOOD defenseman +. |
|
|
|
You could be right. But he also could have been talking about Olli Juolevi.
I would offer Jake Gardner plus.. Don't know what it would take though.
Matthews between Marner and Tkatchuk would be sweet. - sparky
yeah I have no idea what it would take either, but would absolutely love it if the Leafs could somehow pull it off. |

I will be interesting to see what goes down, as this is the first time the Oilers will actually have to make a real tough decision in the 1st round. |

Well, if they have too many good young forwards, can they not move one of those for a defenseman?
If they think Tkachuk is a better long term option than Eberle, for example, you have to think a team strong on the blue line would be open for acquiring a high end forward. Thinking Nashville or St. Louis maybe |

I was just thinking about my 4 1/2 year old boy and I realized something. I was worried that once he got to school he would see kids with McDavid Toews Crosby etc jerseys and other tears hats and cheer for a team aside from the Leafs. My hope was the memories of growing up with dad cheering the leafs would cement him and keep him loyal as it did with me and my dad.
But with the emphasis on rebuilding and Marner and Matthews coming, the Leafs will be cool, relevant and cheered for like in the old days.....if loushanducock can get this team winning. I'll have nothing to worry about. |

My boy is 2. By the time he gets to the point where he wants to actively support a team, I think the Leafs will be really good. Hopefully he falls in line |

I think Loushanducock is the pseudonym Dubloushanacock uses to check into hotels to avoid being harassed by the crazies. |

Dude! I never really put my leafs hat away. Wear mid august even though no hockey. I've seen more leaf hat and stuff while out in the last few month than I have in years. Like no even close. People keep stopping me..... random strangers, people I don't know to say something about my leafs hat. Want to talk about last nights Marlies game, marner, that they're excited about Matthews at #1 at the draft.
That hasn't happened to me in years, like 99-02....... |

The bandwagon is going to need a major suspension upgrade in the coming years. Probably have to use Leaf springs |

Exactly "Can't pass up the BPA!!"
I expect a new 18yr old winger will be on their top line come October |

Honestly, I thought about the thing for my 7 and 5 year old.
It will be great to have what could be some great some leaf players. |

Over the past 10 pathetic years we've lost alot of fans, respecially, popularity.
Rightfully so. Not that he previous 30 years were a world better.
It's time this team gets back to where it belongs and what it can be. |

Meddling delusional owner.
Trading for Phaneuf.
Battling for 9th.
800 coaching changes.
No Hugh end elite prospects.
Yong talent thats pretty average.
Hardly any players at some of the bigger tournaments.
Perhaps I should have said Darker instead of Darkest? - systemtool
Oh I agree...they suck. But they do have positives and talent. They could get worse.
But I hope they get worse. |

I hope they don't get worse. They are basically in a hopeless situation. Too good to finish bottom 5, but only good enough to be a one and out playoff team. |
