Marner had a storybook ending to the season. He needs to get more weight on his frame and maintain his quickness. If he can do that, and become a factor, playing beside Austin Matthews, the sky is the limit. The Leafs need to find some size to play with these two elite level junior aged forwards. It was painfully obvious, watching Hershey pound on the Marlies and how much trouble that Rouyn was for the high flying Knights, that it's an imperative, moving forward.

I also believe that Lou will find us a decent goalkeeper, since he's had a great track record in acquiring front line goaltenders. Lou was budget conscious, in New Jersey, but has a little more autonomy in Toronto.

I agree, some size needs to be added to this group. As far as goaltending, it's going to be added at the draft. It has to. It's anyone's guess as to who tho. I don't think I can watch another full year of bernier..

A goalie added at the draft won't help the Leafs for several years. He needs to add a goalie through trade or free agency.

I think that they draft one, in the second round. I also believe that their stockpile of talent and draft picks might allow them to pry a good young goalie from an organization that fears losing one in the expansion draft. Players like Brendan Lipsic and Kaspery Kapanen are expendable, but could help another team. Bundle one up with a second rounder and you might get that goaltender that they require. There's also the chance that they can pry one away, by taking a salary dump from a contender, to clear cap space for other assets that they need to sign.

Mariner has nifty mittens.

Faster Dmen in NHL vs OHL will be a huge difference for him. The AHL would be perfect, too bad he can't go.

I would do that deal straight up for Lupul. We would even eat some of Jimmy's salary. Nobody wants Robidas. In fact, nobody wanted him 2 years ago either.

Tough spot for him......maybe Europe? Let him play in the Swedish Elite league for a year.

Marner was drafted from the CHL, he has to stay there or play in the NHL. That's the only 2 options. No AHL, no Europe, no NCAA.

Yep. People need to learn this. Once you play a game for the CHL you will only play there or the NHL until you age out.
