Team needs cap relief to sign players now & upcoming, so don't expect anything more than draft picks + maybe a fringe spec... Oh btw a team that trades for him will also have to pay him which is important part of a trade offer.

To St Louis
Bishop
Killorn

To Tampa
Elliot
Parayko
Barbashev
negotiation rights to David Backes

gives Tampa a replacement 1B goalie to elliviate full time duties for Vasilevski.
after 2016/17 Elliot is a FA and could be resigned in a backup role depending on success. if an Elliot/Allen tandem could get St Louis into the WCF I imagine that Vasi/Elliot could easily keep the Lightning in the post season next year.
Backes could help provide the leadership lost by Stamkos and could be signed on a shorter term contract like 2 years.
Parayko helps making a trade of Carle/Cobourn possible without losing depth on the blueline.

St Louis gets a top-5 goalie with time to resign long term.
Allen will also be a year older and may be in position to take over the reigns as early as 2017/18 season while Bishop guarantees the Blues another long playoff run next year. could have a good problem with Killorn.

Not a chance in happy land that St. Louis goes for that. Coburn won't be traded and nobody is stupid enough to take Carle.... EVER!!

I know he was nominated for a Vezina this year but do people really see Bishop as a top 5 goalie?

In no particular order, Price, Ludqvist, Rinne, Rask, Holtby, Schneider, heck even Luongo are ahead of him in my book. I have him in the second tier with Quick, MAF, etc.

What will be the first domino to fall in the Yzerplan this off season?

My guess is

1. Carle being bought out
2. A definitive conclusion on Stamkos
3. Kucherov resigned
4. A trade on draft day - possibly a goalie
5. Resign of Hedman on July 1st when he can resign
6. A decision on Killorn who is RFA but has arbitration rights
7. Work on resigning rest of the the RFAs

They should keep Parayko, good D are hard to come by and this kid was impressive enough.

Yeah, I highly doubt they would trade Parayko, especially with the possibility of Shattenkirk leaving soon.

I would rank them Price, Lund, Schneider as clear top3 and Bishop, Holtby, Quick just after them. MAF/Rinne/Rask is not in that group right now.

Bishop was a late bloomer, but he has been top5 in the league the last 3 seasons (top2 in two of them). So he is definetly in that group of elite goalies.

really stamkos sets up our plans if we keep him we will have some very hard cap decisons! if we don't keep him we almost keep everyone else.

Not a chance Blues even consider that offer. Parayko isn't getting moved for a rental.

lot of teams looking to move a goaltender this offseason. Not sure how many teams are actually looking for one though. there's a few, but I don't think any goalie is getting a big return this offseason.

If Yzerman could swing a three way, sending Bishop and Filppula (retain1.5 of him) and get Niemi from them and Shattenkirk from St. Louis

Rinne isn't even a top 15 goalie.

Bishop costs $6M, has one year left on his deal, and will turn 30 early next season. The goalie market is about to be flooded by teams not wanting to lose them for nothing in the expansion draft. TB, ANA, COL, STL, PIT, DET, and BOS all have a decision to make on their goalie situation.

DAL, CAL, VAN could use upgrades. It's not a seller's market.

But in this mess of avaliable goalies, Bish is the only proven one.

MAF, Smith, Ward, Reimer, Pickard, Howard, Niemi, Lehtonen, Pavelec.. Its not like thats a sexy group of goaltenders. If a team really want to make a serious improvement in net, its Bish or Andersen who are the main players. So its a cap question, if you have room Bish is your main target and if you are close to the cap then Andersen makes more sense.

Shattenkirk will probably be moved for a young NHL ready guy at the draft. Can't start talking extensions with him until July 1.

Shattenkirk and Elliott

Bishop

The starting point and add to either/both sides from there to make it work.

No. Filppula has a NMC, taking him would mean not getting to protect someone we actually wanted to keep next summer in expansion draft. And if the NHL doesn't add something about not having to protect NMC's that are about to expire, no to Bishop as well. No one wants a contract you'll have to protect but then lose to UFA status two weeks later.

Has any read these...

http://boltsbythebay.com/...lightning-failure-future/

This guy doesn't understand the CAP and how it works. Bishop is awesome but he will command a huge contract and is turning 30, Vasy is 21 and plenty of time to learn and grow. He had a .921 save percentage where the Penguins averaged around 40 shots per game against him. The Pens outplayed the Lightning, nothing Vasy could do - they didn't change their D because Vasy was in net it was just the Pens were all over the puck. I do agree the Bolts will have a hard decision and will have to go with 1 going forward, once we see the dominos start to fall we will have a better understanding of who the future goalie is.

I hate seeing opinion pieces on Bolts sites like they are facts. At least Eklund from my time on this site has only had respectable writers with Michael, Ty and Erik.
