Stewart will never make it most of our prospects have late bdays and aren't eligible/ ready
- CanuckDon

Yeah, too many of our "prospects" are going to have to clear waivers.

It's not really funny, this team desperately needs some young highend talent in the worst way.

I have high hopes for Boeser and Demko.

Yes they absolutely are, need more though, especially at center! I didn't say there was zero, but they definitely need more.

When Benning came in he had a lot of things to fix. He is now at the point he can fix the prospect pool. He had no other choice to try to do the things he had to do.

I'm not that impressed with all the draft picks given away with every trade he makes but I like a lot of the trades. Catch 22. Gillis depleted a lot of of future and finding a happy medium between keeping picks and adding depth to try and be competitive is not an easy thing to do.

Thats irrelevant, the Canucks need more, they have one highend forward prospect in Boeser, two with this years pick. That's not gonna cut it.

I'll give Benning a passing grade for now. What I won't do is pretend he's been some kind of franchise saviour or that all of his moves have bettered the team.

I'll grant that he's been in a difficult position due to what appears to be a mandate from ownership to try to win now.

However, some of those extra picks he's given up could be solid prospects at this point. His one 2nd rounder he's kept is Demko, which speaks volumes.

Just keep drafting well and I'll love him like a brother, less intelligent brother, but I'll still love him

This season will be a coaching focus and next offseason will be a GM focus. One more year and it's sink or swim imo.

He has had two drafts dude...he is trying to repair an organizational train wreck. Send Gillis a strongly worded letter in Victoria

You're probably right.

Oddly, had he held on to some of those picks and possibly acquired more he might be able to point to FA and say....but the cupboards are restocked.

I think he can tell Aquilini " Tree, Demko, Boeser, Dubois, Brisbouis, Virtanen, Baertchi, and Gunbrandson. You're welcome for trying to fix 10 years of incompetence FA."
