Good article about the sweds coming.

I copied this from the other board: not sure where they found it.

Per Scott Powers, the delay on signing Schmaltz is the bonus structure he is demanding along with a few other things. Powers said it could still get done and lets hope it does because Schmaltz could really improve our line up.

Also John and word if the Shpachopvy is no longer a option? seems odd he is staying for 2.5 when I would think he could get more then that here,

I'll step in and say that Shipachyov is not a guy who has ever really been dying to come to North America until this year. He has a great situation in St. Petersburg with the most well-run, financially solvent team in the league and has a wife and young children who enjoy living there. All things being equal, I get the sense he'd be happier there at $2.5 million than he would here at $3-$3.5 million.

Bonus structure, and a few other things? The kid is still in college and he's demanding a bonus structure? Who the hell does he think he is... the second coming of Gretzky? Sounds kind of douche-y if you ask me.

Perhaps that would be understandable IF he was guaranteed to play for the Hawks and not the Hogs his 1st year, but who says that's going to happen? He has to beat out a whole bunch of other guys in training camp gunning for the same spot on the roster. As of now, he's just a decent rated prospect.

Anyone want to take stab at lines and D pairings with what we have right now? This being devoid of Q'ism and putting D on their correct side. And for the helluvit, Shaw stays with us.

14 19 88
72 15 81
65 22 86
11 70 Hartman or Fleischman if he stays.

Not sure on D based on L/R handed shooters.

Probably looking at...

Bonuses for a very good prospect are not really that rare or crazy. It sounds like they will sign him once they work that out.

Would he, though, be limited to an ELC for his first year here, or has he aged out of that? If he would be subject to it, maybe he wants to collect the money he can his last year.

Heard from some of my sources, may have been touched on here long ago, but Q and Dayley had an issue going way back.

Not surprising.

Just makes me nod my head. Your whole season can be surmised by stating.

The blackhawks trade Trevor Dayley for Rob Scuderi.

Love watching teams around the league emulate the most common winning formula, that is fast deep teams. The Penguins are playing it as good as the Hawks ever did.

Is Rosival coming back next year? People can knock SB all they want, Q is to blame in my book.

There are plenty of good spots to land in the NHL now where you have a chance to win a cup. Hawks have thier work cut out. Especially when you look at all the NET subtraction as written and documented by fellow posters.

To the first point - that's only part of it.

To the second point - I believe it is safe to say that the front office as well as Q are to blame. As to who carries how much of the individual blame is subjective.

Since the NHL team in Vegas is almost a sure thing, I was thinking about some potential team names for the new Las Vegas squad...

-Aces, Kings, Queens, or Jacks
-Gamblers
-Strippers
-Second Mortages
-Gamblers Anonymous
-Alcoholics Anonymous
-The Skating STDs
-Debt Collectors

just spitballing here....

EDIT:
-The Cheaters (plenty of infidelity out there)
-Team Green (with a big smiling Cash Logo)
-The Las Vegas Escorts
-The Sinners

Jarrett Stoll will wear the C and Mike Richards the A i can go on for days

- EnzoD

Had a lengthy discussion about this in Vegas with residents not too long ago. Out of all the ideas, one rose to the top: THE ACEHOLES

Alas, an opportunity wasted.......

I hear ya Cup. We know where this started and quite frankly why make those moves at the deadline when you didn't get what you really needed a defenseman. Meanwhile Bickell and Runny are still on your roster. Dano and Danault really hurt because they were young controllable assets you had.

And take a look at Drouin's playoffs. If you could have moved TT for him that was a no brainer. There's no way Drouin is going anywhere now. Ladd is a valued piece but there's no way you can make that work. Team needs to get younger and faster. I'd also like to see more physicality, but this team is loathe to do that.

The coaching staff isn't beyond question either...both the PP and the PK have become too predictable and stagnant as well as some other coaching decisions and handling of the roster. See Dale Weise for starters.

Meantime with a flat cap and the two monster deals w/ T/K as well as some of the other big contracts it puts the Hawks in a corner. When you win its what happens.

Moving forward - deal Bick's finally or cut him and move CC to clear space so you have some flexibility. I don't want to move CC, but what are your other options...? Outside of AA Shaw is the only one who goes to the net.

I'd like to see Campbell back to help solidify the backend and you still need a #1 left wing to go with 19 81...That could be Shaw if we haven't lost him already. Interested to see what this team looks like two months from now, no question Bowman has some heavy lifting to do here.

Yeah right !! Let's see if our GM can actually make a Hockey Trade that benefits our team.

Someone said he was at the Cubs game yesterday, so maybe he is back in town for contract talks.

I think Shaw is truly thankful the Hawks gave him a chance to play. I too think he stays.

He posted a picture of himself at the Cubs game on Instagram.

I don't think he needs to be in town for contract talks, I would guess his agent is taking care of that. But Shaw staying in Chicago this far after the season end shows he likes living in Chicago. That doesn't directly translate into Shaw staying but it's better than him bolting and going back to Canada (eh).
