I don't think it will be pretty. Saddest part for the American fanbase is that it appears to be self inflicted.

Absolutely. Hiring Torts as coach was mistake #1 and it went to crap from there.

I'm 100% behind team North America.

I'll be rooting for team North America after seeing that garbage the Americans are calling a roster.

Yep, no idea why they couldn't go with Blashill, Hynes or Sullivan. Any would have been a wiser choice.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Hall have a horrible stretch at the end of the season? That could have something to do with it, same with Perry. Team canada likes to pick guys who have or are in the middle of having good seasons. Talent wise he's obviously good enough and he had a great world championships, but that might not have been enough for him to make up for a mediocre season.

Perhaps. But then Hall rocked it at the Worlds while Perry was just ok.
At any rate I'm not sure why Canada has gone with so many natural centres. something like 11 of 13 forwards isn't it? Would it have been so bad to maybe pick a couple more natural wingers?

So, how come nobody is talking about the fact that the Panthers choose McCann plus 33ov over Yakopov plus 32ov? That was the rumoured offer? JB acted fast before RNH was added to the deal, what was chia thinking?

Hall rightfully wasnt chosen because he is the lead player on a loser. playing on a national team is a privelege that should be reserved for the best of the best

Hall as a pro has played 7 years and his teams have only gotten worse

Crosby Tavares, Toews, etc also played for bad teams early in their careers but unlike Hall they led their teams to bigger and better things whereas Hall has not

as such he does not deserve to be selected, not if they want to win at any rate

Not just that but Hall's performance at the IIHF World Championship seemed like it was just ignored. He played fantastically and was one of the factors that allowed Canada to get Gold.

I guess it all depended on how they would be constructing their gameplan as well.

just what has he done to earn the privelege of representing his country?

the thing about Hall is he manages the team and has had the team running on 1 top 4 defenceman every year, which is weird because it directly affects him! the D he's not bringing in, would help his offence!

if Hall just played #1LW as well as #1RD, they'd be in great shape. Selfish of him

it hurts me to think people are legitimately that stupid

the face palm belongs to oiler fans who are perfectly fine with being the worst run franchise in all of sports

one whose best player had to be taken to his hotel by the Police after the team new years Party at Calgary's Osteria de Medici.

as reported by the Star:

Eight thousand bucks sure sounds like a lot of booze.

That's how much 45 Edmonton Oilers and their entourage consumed on New Year's Eve at Calgary's Osteria de Medici. Then the fun started. The Oilers party took issue with the roughly $17,000 bill (once food and 18 per cent gratuity were factored in). They refused to pay more than $13,000. Restaurant owner Maurizio Terrigno went public, shaming the hockey team.

this is not the only incident either......

most fans are blissfully unaware of what players do off the Ice.....Taylor Hall has multiple incidents where the Oilers have had to get involved to protect the franchise

One man does not a team make. Would Chicago have 3 cups with only Toews and no Kieth or Seabrook? Or LA with only Kopitar and no Doughty and Muzzin? Hall can't do it all himself, so why should he be held to such a standard?
As far as what he has done, does not being 1 of the top 3 highest scoring Canadian LW in the sport for the last 3 years not perhaps justify his inclusion on a team that has only 2 natural LW?

In summary, the Oilers are a bad team so none of their players should be able to compete internationally. This rule only applies to the Oilers. Also, breaking news, young, rich hockey players spend lots of money on booze from time to time.
