It's a joke hall isn't in the team.
But guys like Tavares and seguin who are not better players in any facet other than media hype, get constantly deep throated.
but he plays on the oilers.

And that's not even mentioning that he's undoubtedly the superior player to carter, duchene and Marchand

Bright side is there's no injury risk. But he deserves to be on the team

You are so biased.

Jeff Carter was one of the best players on the last gold medal winning team.
Duschene didn't do it you're right; but to say he had help but Taylor hall didn't....I'm pretty sure hall had several first overal, picks....

If you think hall is better good for you....but there's a reason the hockey management team left him Off the last 2 years. There's also a reason why the oilers are stuck in the basement...,is hall talented....very, very talented....but the guy is so 1 dimensional.....Phil Kessel was left off team USA as well....kinda for the same reason. When these guys aren't scoring..,,they aren't doing a lot more than that.

Brad Marchand has something hall doesn't either...and that's chemistry....with Bergeron.....the end.

You think you actually know better than hockey Canada.? And you say my post are flawed and bad.....oh boy.

- Kinggilmour

Anyone who says Toews is overrated has automatically discredited themself. He was Canada's best player in the 2010 Olympics and is a big game player. Carter is a reason philly and LA were successful. He's good. Seguin is better. Tavares is better. Get over it.

The only guys you can question are duchesse and Marchand but don't mention those other guys.

Some of these roster snubs make me scratch my head, but this is unreal. I'm not an EDM fan by any stretch, but Hall is a generational and elite talent. Unbelieveable

If they had toews they would have made the playoffs....and who knows right? Blackhawks finished dead last p...drafts toews and Kane..,a few other good pieces...oh yeah then won 3 cups. Oilers drafted first overall a few times....room hall with one of them....to date....still haven't seen the playoffs. Does that answer your question?

Oh yeah, al,oat forgot, he also won 2 gold medals....did I miss anything?

- Kinggilmour

Ok, so your delusional.
Just wanted to be sure.

Hall is a great player. He has proven he can be an impact player on a great, winning team (2 MVP - Memorial Cups, 2 Golds as well as being a top scorer in 2 World Championships)(Also more pts then Seguin on the same team in 2015)

That being said, Canada could exchange every single player on this team for someone else, and still be the best team there.

Sheesh, someone seems a little bit cranky than normal.

Edit: Oh, as for NEONDILDODEON and smellie, here is a message from the royal monarchy of Canada.

Elite yes, generational, no.
He is one of the TOP 3-5 LW's in the game, but he is by no means generational.

It's not just for one person when you state that anyone who disagrees with your point "only listens to what NHL analysts say". So, my comment still stands.

Not saying I agree with the Toews = overrated comment, but you're comparing the beginning of Edmonton's "tear down, scorched Earth" rebuild to the end of Chicago's "tired of mediocrity, but still a decent FA destination" rebuild. Apples and oranges. Chicago already had Seabrook, Keith, Hjalmarsson, Barker (bad now, great prospect), and Wisniewski working through their system. Edmonton had Petry.

Edmonton (frank)ed up a lot, but their screw-ups and this rebuild are mostly where they are due one thing: Ryan Whitney's steep and sudden decline.

He started great with 27 points in 35 games playing like 25+ minutes a night and running a bad, but not horrendous D corps with Gilbert, Smid, Foster, and Petry. Had he not pretty much "lost a leg", I'm confident saying Edmonton would've been out of their rebuild for a couple years by now. Had they drafted Kulikov rather than Paajarvi in 2009, it would've also helped their cause as you always draft Dmen first (see Chicago and Pittsburgh).

- MaximumBone

i think u need to look into chicago's rebuild... and yes chicago had those players in place when they drafted toews..... but the oilers had hall nuge ebs yaks leon nurse klefbom in place when they drafted mcdavid... so what are the oilers waiting for?

When I was in High School, the Hawks were the laughingstock of the NHL. It's been a long time since they've been terrible, so I guess a lot of younger people don't remember. The Penguins were also a complete joke for a while. I hope in 10 years Oiler fans will be able to claim they forgot about being bad.

going off the timeline of the penguins and hawks the oilers should be prime for cup contention in a year or two.

Totally underselling Malkin. He might not be elite defensively but his D game is much better than league average.

Calling Malkin's D game no better than league average is a slap in the face to a player who could dominate 95% of the league 1 on 1. (and yes I realize the game isn't played 1 on 1 )

- RonPielep

Pens fan here and I will say that although Malkin is above "average" defensively, he floats a lot and can be lazy in his defensive assignments.

Motivated Malkin - Beast
Lazy Malkin - fist through TV

PS, who got the last thread locked?

I see them as being very comparable players... I would give Tavares an edge due to the fact that he plays center and he has a slightly better PPG average.

So I see some unpleasantries about the Canadian roster. The US managed to (frank) their roster worse than any other. I'm rooting for team North America and for Tortorella to be coaching a team in China next year.

I don't think it will be pretty. Saddest part for the American fanbase is that it appears to be self inflicted.
