Hall should've made it and I still think he should've made it in '12 for the Olympic team

Not sure what some guys have to do to get over the hump

- AllInForFlyers

I guess pull his team out of the basement.

its not without some validity. but it also goes hand in hand with many of the medias misconceptions about the oilers deficiencies. these are the same guys that made the sexy oilers pick a few years ago. "so much talent" but they really had no clue how many holes the team has, how deep the issues were etc etc.

and then when the oilers failed to meet those unfair expectations, players like hall get unfairly blamed. cause you certainly wont hear some braindead eastern media dude say, "wow, was I ever wrong. I really had no idea what I was talking about"

hall is a great great player.

Hall has never had a 30 goal season so not really too surprising.

Wait.... the injuries tho...

hes not a pure snipe. hes more of a bull that goes to the net to score his goals. I do think more goals were expected. but at the same time, I don't think people realized how great his passing is.

meh. still tip ten in scoring twice by 22. 3rd in ppg in different years.

reached the 80 point plateau by 22.

the injuries aint no excuse. they've barely held him back. just a tired narrative those people who don't know much about him use as a drawback

The way he puts pucks on net is kinda a love/hate thing for me. I want McDavid to do more of that tho. Hall sometimes probably has better options. Nuge and McDavid are much better at using their linemates, Hall is like you say, a bull.

I actually really like Nuges balance of using his linemates and shooting. He is a very heady player and is underrated in my opinion. His wrist shot is great, probably more of a sniper than Hall.

I like Hall, so don't think I don't. Plus I don't buy the misconception of Oiler issues either only bc JT made team Canada when isles were a laughing stock.. just sayin

Getzlaf and Thornton should not have made team Canada way too slow of foot. Tavares or Bergeron should be playing in the middle and Hall should have been in on the left side.

Absolutely, and it's really kinda sad. None of what has happened in Edmonton is his fault, and it can be argued pretty easily that he is the one player who has truly earned every penny of his salary over the past four or five seasons

Seguin may never be the same player again....
Ever since Toews cried in the box, then seabrook cuddled him. Lost all respect.
Hall is good but until he is in the playoffs we will never know who he is. Does pout a lot
I am an oilers fan but as of now Tavares and Seguin are better. Doesnt take a hockey fan to know that. Maybe Hall will make the playoffs in a year or two and shine. As of now it is speculation. With tavares and Seguin it is not.

Totally underselling Malkin. He might not be elite defensively but his D game is much better than league average.

Calling Malkin's D game no better than league average is a slap in the face to a player who could dominate 95% of the league 1 on 1. (and yes I realize the game isn't played 1 on 1 )

- RonPielep

THANK YOU!
Finally someone that doesn't just listen to what NHL analysts say!
Malkin's Two-way game has vastly improved over the year's, especialyl his defense.
Early in his career, his defensive play wasn't that great, but now, he plays a great underrated defensive game.

I didn't feel this way when they were drafted and I still don't feel this way now. Far as I'm concerned its pretty much a (frank)ing wash. Both are super talented.

Scheifiele had 1 good year and now he's elite? Plus I watch a ton of Pens games and sorry Malkin isn't....
- Ur Not Me

He is young; in other words, he is going to be an elite player pretty soon. Many Winnipeg fans will agree with that. His defensive play is probably his best asset. Defensive forwards are underrated when it comes to who is "elite" and what not.

This applies with Landeskog as well; he is an emerging elite talent defensively. Once again, his best asset is his defensive play, which makes him "underrated" when it comes to the "elite" status.

82 games this season and only 26 goals. Not a great stat but only one plus goals against season in 2012-2013. Good player but Canada has enough good players for 2 teams.

It's a joke hall isn't in the team.
But guys like Tavares and seguin who are not better players in any facet other than media hype, get constantly deep throated.
but he plays on the oilers.

And that's not even mentioning that he's undoubtedly the superior player to carter, duchene and Marchand

Bright side is there's no injury risk. But he deserves to be on the team
