I read that Nylander Sr. moved to TO to live with his two sons. That's pretty cool, you've got a retired NHL vet dad there giving them advice, probably making sure they eat right, kicking them the real deal. Bloodlines and experience can't hurt.

Augello continues to wave the 'Stamkos to TOR' flag. I will repeat what Babcock said (not verbatim) in an interview a few weeks ago "Signing (big name) free agents makes sense when we are ready (to compete), but not while we are rebuilding."
I'd say in 2 to 3 years time they should be on the upswing of their rebuild, it is around this time they should focus on signing a big name free agent.
Shanahan made it clear their focus of rebuilding is thru the draft.
I can see them making a trade or two this draft, to either move up in the draft, or to acquire a younger goalie or D man, who are NHL ready.
But I don't see them going after big name free agents just yet, they'd be pissing money in the wind for 4 years if they did. I can't see Shanahan doing this.

Stamkos will come or not come based what he wants to do - no doubt the Leafs want him here.

I'm saying keep the good players we have, dump the trash. The decision on kadri bozak doesn't have to fix all the problems they have.


Trade bozak for a song and invest his 4.25mil in a dman and or goalie..... Same thing with bernier. That's 8mil to play with for shopping for dman and goalie.

I don't think that's a trade that the peg makes.

5 games in the leafs looking for a new centre to be #3. Why would the leafs go all in with stamkos and then go dollar days with bozak at 3?

I think that they are better with better players, plain and simple. It's pretty straight forward. Move bozak and use cap saving for ufa shopping, makes you better.
