There are tons of intriguing story lines in this final but there's one that really stands out to me and I think most NHL/hockey fans. It's hard to imagine any hockey fan wouldn't want to see Joe Thornton, arguably the best player of his generation win the Cup. He will end his career as possibly the top 5 all time in assist and poteially top 10 in points. He has also been nothing but a class act his entire career. With the exception of making a blunt comment about NYR a few years ago after an intense game with them. And that is not usdualky his style. I would think most of the hockey world will be rooting for him and SJ outside of Pens fans and potentially the Rags fans that are holding on to that.

Round 1: 2012 Vezina finalist, 2012 Conn Smythe winner, 2012 All Star, 2014 Jennings winner, 2016 Vezina finalist

Round 2: 2011 All Star, 2011 Vezina finalist, 2012 Vezina finalist, 2015 All Star, 2015 Vezina finalist, 2016 All Star

Round 3: 2012 Jennings winner, 2012 All Star, 2015 All Star

I know most of these achievements don't mean anything but it's not like they faced a bunch of nobodies.

Round 1: 2015 Vezina finalist

Round 2: 2016 Most likely Vezina Winner

Round 3: Future Vezina winner (anyone arguing that is dumb).

Good try, but you just showed lesser goaltending really easily.

Didn't you just beat a backup goalie who had to come in cold for round 3 of the playoffs and it took you 7 games? Just saying.

I don't know who's favored but to me it looks like a pick 'em.

And why give a crap who anyone likes. It's two outstanding and remarkably talented teams and you'll settle it on the ice. Enjoy!

Ignore him.

Rangers are a shell of their former selves.
Caps, collapse in the playoffs every year.
Bolts, playing without their two best players.

Want to see the old timers and Pavelski carry the Cup. Go Sharks!

Watching the media day today, it's pretty cool to see the sharks players smiling, laughing, goofing around while the Pens players are so serious in all their interviews. Not sure what that means in the long run but I'm glad to see these guys enjoying it

Just out of interest what's your GM said about all this? Any praise for Jumbo & some hardy back slapping about the team this playoffs??
