it's apples and oranges

the hossa and kovy deals were for players signed well past their prime

stamkos and his 7 year deal will be for a player in his prime for the entire duration

the chara deal, 5 years 37.5 mil was during his glory years

the hull deal was a 3 year deal during his fringe all star days

Kovy was 26 same age as stamkos I would put those two as A equal comparison

Hossa was 29 so you got me there

Another one that we could put in comparison is Bouwmeester at the time everyone thought he was A top defenseman etc at age 25

I don't disagree with the general idea, but the kid made his point here. The original question was not whether the deal was smart when it was signed, it asked whether the player was good when he hit the market.

I don't know what you're talking about, I'm still waiting for California to fall into the ocean. That's what I was agreeing with Homie about.

Anyone ever been to a Stanley Cup finals game? I wonder if it's really not much different than a regular season game. Unlike the Super Bowl or World Series which go to great lengths to make those games really special and for sure you get that feeling ..... I just wonder if that feeling is really there at a Cup finals series.

I ask because I might have a chance to sit on the glass in San Jose ........ but it's gonna cost a fortune ........... and I can't stand the Sharks actually.

Yes, but it was the Sabres.

I am sure the atmosphere will be a lot different than a regular season game even if you have nothing invested in the teams that are playing.

Yeah I'm sure it'd be quite different than a "regular" season game ............ maybe just another "playoff" game is what I should have said.

I still think it would be great, but if you are not a fan of the team, it might not seem like it.

I would go.

I was going to say Stevie Ray Vaughan died years ago. And Clapton lives in England among many other places, I'm sure. A man that can get Ferrari to make him a completely custom, one-off car probably has many houses.

one of my favorites, that and the casey kasem rant

- homiedclown

I agree with him, that doesn't make any sense. And if it happened frequently like he said I'd probably lose it too. "That was 'Walking on Sunshine' by Katrina and the Waves. Now here's one to Charlie in Chattanooga, sorry about Waffles, your beloved Golden Retriever..." That's kind of (frank)ed up.
