And in the end, the love you make is equal to the love you take.

So, about that "in the end" part....

ROR is already elite. He's the exact same player as Bergeron and Toews. If Toews and Bergeron are elite so is ROR. And don't bring up the Cup thing either because with the cast of players the Hawks and Bruins had ROR would've won the cup as well.

Jordan Staal was one of the best 3rd line centres in recent memory. Throwing Roy into the conversation is just petty.
- Jammerz04

Yes. Crosby, Malkin, and the Stall. They won a cup.

Drury, Briere, Roy. No cup, but two ECF.

Not going to post his stats, but, wow. They crush Stall's.

He isn't the exact same thing as them. As good as Toews? On what planet?

It's the cup thing. If he was surrounded by the same as those others, well...

Maybe those others are responsible for winning the cup? No?

When Toews was 24 he had 48 points in 47 games in the lockout year, and won the Selke. Now O'Reilly is just as good? Good freaking lord

I think ROR could grow to be considered among Kopitar, Bergeron and Toews in the next few seasons. But saying ROR = Toews, or even ROR = Bergeron right now is completely ludicrous.

When exactly was the last time the Laughs were a cup contender? Hell even a playoff contender?

Eichel ? Matthews

Ristolainen > Reilly

Reinhart ? Marner

ROR >>>>>>>> Kadri

Should I keep going? Because I can ...

- Jammerz04

That's how it should read, because comparing guys to other guys who haven't set foot on an NHL rink is just pure speculation when they're drafted in about the same position. Obviously it's pretty safe to say a 2nd overall is better than the last pick in the draft, but outright saying a 2nd overall 2nd year player is better than the probable 1st overall as a rookie is a bit homerish. Same goes for comparing Reinhart and Marner, and also for the fact that they play the game completely differently. About the only 2 things they have in common is they're both "undersized" and they were drafted in the top 5.

Which Rielly are we talking about? NHL 16 Reilly? Because he totally kicks ass and I try and get him on every one of my teams. He's way faster than Risto. And speed kills in the NHL games. The day they took Afinogenov out of the games was a sad day indeed. They tried to hide him on team Russia, but through some roster moves you could get him. And then he was gone for good

True, but he also played with Pat Kane a lot too. No offense to Reinhart and early season Evander Kane, but Pat Kane they are not. I'm pretty sure Saad played up there some too. And look where he is today. Throwing up 30+ for the (frank)ing Blue Jackets!

Edit: I just want to make it clear. I'm in no way saying ROR is on par with Toews.

It's incredibly optimistic. O'Reilly is a really good 2nd line center, maybe 1st line winger who will be important to this team. But Toews and Bergeron have been considered top 10 forwards for the past 7+ Years

How is it homerish? Eichel would have gone 1st overall in any draft since Crosby had it not been for 97. And every annalist I've seen has said Eichel would go before Matthews if they were in the same draft. I've seen a few that said it would be close but I've not seen one say Matthews is better than Eichel in terms of a prospect. So in this case it's not homerish it's fact.

I could see him becoming a 60-70 point guy that is also very good defensively.

In terms of "prospects" ok, I'll buy that, it's really close. But it's certainly not fact. It's the very definition of opinion. People look at two guys, and say "I like that guy better" that's not fact.

But that's not what you said. You said Eichel > Matthews. Morgan Rielly and Risto are not prospects. ROR and Kadri aren't prospects.

What's an "annalist" is that like a Russian dating service?
