this line up is very possible but that 7 rookies in the line up.
2 of them will not be there. - zazzle
Maybe one of the fourth liners. I don't see any of the others not making it though. Babs already said that Brown was ready last year. We know that Nylander is. Matthews will be. Maybe Sosh also? That's about it IMO |

He's suspended from the nhl. It's nhl event.
Bill daly already said he doesn't think he'll be allowed to play .
Edit:
@SWhyno: Voynov named to Russia's roster. Daly: "not my current expectation that this player will be deemed eligible to play" https://t.co/oN9Oa7naOw

I'm going to make a very Stephen A prediction. Leafs go from 30th to 24th max next season. Inexperienced D and goaltending to blame.
This also reminds me that I need to check just how poorly I did on this years predictions. - markmark

Shaw isn't a guy we'd trade for at this point. He'd be taking roster space away from a young guy who could potentially be better.
Shattenkirk is the only guy from St Louis that really makes sense and at that, unless we trade away a good prospect (like top 6 or top 4 potential) who is still making less than a million and a high pick, I doubt we get anywhere with them
Bishop is one to go for at this point, Kuchie ain't going anywhere but maybe it's possible to pry one of either killorn or namestnikov away a la brandon saad.
I don't know if I like anybody in New York enough to make a determination. - TheMussel
i like shaw's game. not many in the league in play a similar style.
leivo and s.carrick for shaw. clear out roster spaces.
i'd also look at an offer sheet. only costs a 2nd if we keep it under $3.7M...which we should. |

I don't think he's really worth it. Doesn't he take a lot of ill timed penalties? I think I'd rather just have Soshnikov or Hyman turn into that crash and bang, 30-40pt player. |

I'd wait till Stamkos comes to us, and suggest he signs a one or two year contract with someone else. If he's still interested in coming here after that, perfect, if not, meh... The guy is a goal scorer, but not much more. Didn't we already chase the last goal scorer out of town because he didn't buy into the defensive side of the game? Didn't we want to avoid letting our young guys learn from a guy like that?
Only difference I see is that he is local guy who grew up as a fan of the team.
Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see him in a TO uniform, but I think another year (or two) of sticking to the course is the way to go. Why let his goal scoring push us into 9-10th place, when we are nowhere near being ready to compete for a cup? Haven't we already done that and agreed it doesn't work?
Everyone seemed OK with the idea of a 3-5 year rebuild. We are just about to start the 3rd year (under Shanahan). Personally, I'm willing to lose out on the possibility of signing the guy, if the alternative is to end the rebuild a year early, and make all our 2017-2018 draft picks worse.
Besides, isn't Tavares going to be available the following year? |

I'll agree to disagree with this.
I'd trade two Kadris for a Stamkos any day of the week - WingmanWillie
We already have two kadri's......Kadri and Bozak.....hasnt gotten us anywhere. Top line center talent is what is required. |

But why?
Wherever he signs it will be for max years and deservedly so been one of the best offensive forwards in the game. |
