Letang and Schultz on the one PP looked fine really. have to respect both sides from the point... damn scarry. - Guile
letangs delay and hesitation is just killing me. that, and anything to add to a few more minutes he doesnt have to play. he is going to have his absolute hands full at even strength.
at the end of the day. the sharks PP is just going to be better. they need to stay out of the box. hopefully hags/bones can make it so that its not scoring at an astronomical rate. and the pens can at least pot a few of their own to somewhat neutralize it. |

No... Geno out... Letang, Schultz, Kessel, Corsby, Horny/Kunitz - Guile
Geno is our best PP weapon when he's on. Would rather run the risk of him being a dumb ass than taking his one timer from the half wall out of there. If you put Schultz on the PP1, maybe his aggression rubs off. Everyone knows that if they try cute passes for too long Schultz will eventually lose patience and call his own number whether its a good look or not. Same effect that having an idiot three point shooter on the court has on the rest of the team. Causes them to take more chances to avoid the out of offense chuck up. |

Wow boys. Just got home a bit ago. I don't know if I can accurately describe what I saw tonight/ What a great 60 minute effort by this team, and what an atmosphere in the building. I don't know how it translated on TV, but it was deafening at times. I've been going to games for over 30 years now, and that's as loud as I've ever hear a building anywhere. 4 more wins! - Emperor Filonius
ive never heard a game at consol come across as that loud on tv before. |

i'm not a pittsburgh native, i think a couple on here could answer than better than myself.
but those series were at mellon. the new stadium always just seemed so much more hush hush. probably the standard devoted fans getting pushed out in favor of more corporate and annoying people once the team gets en vogue.
but the barn seemed rocking tonight. |

If you guys had to compare the Sharks to a team we've already faced in the playoffs, who would it be? I genuinely have no idea what to expect from them.
Yet, I can name a ton of their players. |

I think they're a slightly slower, slightly heavier version of ourselves, actually. |

What a series. The Lightning are a really good team and that young netminder looks like he is gonna be a really good one. Glad we won for the simple fact that I think the Lightning have the worst play by play guy in hockey. Who really want to listen to a screaming goal call while you are Darth Vadering the mic? - PittsPens

Pretty much. Consol is much more cavernous inside than the Igloo, so its also harder to generate as much noise...plus its fair to say that the corporate crowd for the average regular season game isn't that loud.
Civic/Mellon arena used to rock back in the day too, but I wasn't fortunate enough to get to go to a game there for any of the finals in 91 or 92. The loudest I ever heard it in person was when Orpik buried 3 Red Wings on one shift in the finals in 2008.

Okay, that's what I was thinking myself but I wanted to know what my people thought before assuming. Should be interesting stuff! So many years of San Jose disappointment, first heard about Joe Thorton as "No show Joe" Now look! |

I'm speaking specifically of games I have been to in person, which includes tonight. I've been to plenty of playoff games, and finals, but never a game 7 win like that. A game 7 win in the conference finals is pretty damned exciting. |

Congrats, you guys have a great team over there. The Pens were really fast and fun to watch, and deservedly won this series. I enjoyed it alot, however i can't say the same about my experience on these Penguin blogs. I lot of you came off as very arrogant but not all of you are bad. Well, good luck in the finals! |

well when you have alot of diffrent people on the blog some people are bound to be arrogant also we have had ALOT and I mean ALOOOOOOOOT of trolls over the years so some people are very cautious. I personally don't mind people from other teams coming here as long as they don't troll.
edit: also you have a very good team over there. |

I guess you were right, but I'd say about 3/4 of you guys were . Besides that, I cant wait to watch the finals, there are so many great storylines. Will Thorton and Marleau finally win a cup, or will Kessel get his first a year later with the Pens after all the criticism he received in Toronto. There is also a tremendous amount of star power on both sides, this might end up being one of the most exciting cup finals in recent history. |
