MJ was critical in this years development (let's call it non development when he had the reigns!! ).

You're being sarcastic. I am not. Look at how tight the Metro was. If Johnston didn't win the games he did would we even be in the playoffs right now?

When he was asked to do so, Mike Johnston held the door.

kessel is going to have to have a big series for the pens to keep up. crosbys line is gonna see a ton of pickles. the sharks are just so tremendously deep.

A key to victory will be the Minnesota boy neutralizing the Wisconsin boy's production next round. Will love to see how this match up of #CawlidgeHawkey giants plays out.

I agree with you. The last time we wont the cup, Disco came in to replace MT. Who's to say the team would play the same way if they hadnt had MJ's influence to bring some sound defensive structure?

Ultimately it was the right (and only) call to can MJ and could have happened sooner, but he helped make this team what it was this year.

i still think id want a back pairing of 71 and 4.

bonino isnt actually too bad on the second PP.

this is providing malkin keeps simply firing away. if he wants to just be a halfwall passer, then yeah. give him his second line. but the team would never do that i dont think

Our PP definitely needs to be split up. They flat out suck for the talent they have out there.

Unless I am making stuff up... Malkin's best year was when Sid was hurt, and he got to be the star... so make him have his own powerplay.

We have a Notre Dame kid who can help in that department as well

Not to mention the speedster from UMass.

Love seeing all the NCAA products in the Stanley Cup Finals. There's a lot of them, especially on our side.

Letang and Schultz on the one PP looked fine really. have to respect both sides from the point... damn scarry.

But then that kicks Hornqvist out, and net front PP duty is his bread and butter. I'd take either Kessel or Letang off the PP1, and my first choice would be Letang.

It'll be nice to not have to play against a goalie that isn't the best of the past decade, the current Vezina winner, and the guy about to unseat a Vezina finalist. We got Halak'd for 3 rounds (though we solved Hank) but the later 2 round were where previously mentally-weak Pens teams would have folded.

And Bryan freaking Rust has simply decided that "I'm going to win. We're going to win." in the past 2 games.

Jones is good but he's not Vas/Hank/Holtby-good. Not yet.

Wow boys. Just got home a bit ago. I don't know if I can accurately describe what I saw tonight/ What a great 60 minute effort by this team, and what an atmosphere in the building. I don't know how it translated on TV, but it was deafening at times. I've been going to games for over 30 years now, and that's as loud as I've ever hear a building anywhere. 4 more wins!

I thought the PP got some really good looks tonight even though they didn't score.
