Stamkos is a smart guy. He's done all the research on blood clots including asking former players how they handled it. He wouldn't be back unless he was sure he can play. Let's hope he's rusty..

as a doctor id be stressed out about him. but what can you do? he was born and bred for this. its easy for people to say hey its your life, but in his mind, this might well be his life.

His doctor cleared him a while ago. The issue was blood thinners and the doctor left the decision to Stamkos and ultimately agrees that he can play. Stamkos also had a few different opinions saying he was good to go too. Like I said, dude is a smart guy.
