Steve Patrick's son and James' nephew is expected to be the 1st pick in the draft next year. Now I feel old.

Maybe he's is tired of getting arrested and or investigated when he comes home... So he doesn't want to play here.

Like I said there wouldn't be any competition for him it will just be like the Patrick Kane draft clear-cut number one pick . The things he did this year as 17 year old is mind boggling . And being named playoff mvp for the WHl it's pretty crazy ..

It's very exciting for the NHL

Watching the playoffs We need to find a sold backup and some good 3rd and 4th line players

But backup is the number one thing

I did not think it was a big deal at first but every team has used a backup or took the starting job

It's a pretty poop list. But I like Reimer, Johnson, and Enroth, in that order.

I also like Ward and Ramo's experience, but both are wildly inconsistent and not my favorite options.

I have a feeling Girgensons will ask for around 4 a year.
- SABRES 89

I got laughed at when I said he will demand 3.5 to 4 per

Hutton and Montoya aren't terrible options for backups either, but I think we need someone with more starting experience.

Johnson has proven a lot more in my eyes since the last time we discussed his contract, but I still don't like the idea of paying him that much for more than one year.

give him 2 years, 40 percent of regular season starts and it drives down the price on lehner come time for his new deal

I'd rather give that money (or pay a bit more) for Reimer, he's proven a lot more in less time and I think he could be a decent starter on his own. Pair him with Lehner and you have a solid tandem. Give him 2/3 years 3/3.5m.

johnson is 1 year older

better career GGA, save% and winning percentage

and held his own on our bad d team this past season

Well technically two, Reimer will be 28 next season and Johnson will be 30. But besides that, Reimer has double career games played, and has shown starting potential throughout his career, where Johnson has in one season. What Johnson did last year was damn impressive, but Reimer is a safer bet at this point.

I still laugh at the idea because he is not getting paid either of those numbers for one year.

Good luck to him in getting that. Not happening.

I think we all had no expectation for johnson and by far he was the biggest surprise last season

after the t blow, lalemon chaos, I would have no problem rewarding johnson given the uncertainty of our bubble boy starter
