I know it may come back to bite us, but id consider it a pretty big deal to get him here. I havent seen many reports where they say he might come here, usually its like the last line where they say "oh, and buffalo has a team too". Of course hockey coverage is jv at best on a good day.

It's more than just 3rds. If it's a GM and an agent get caught talking contract. You're talking a 1st plus a fine in the neighborhood of $250,000 and possibly the agent being "disbarred" so to speak, unable to conduct business in the NHL. They don't (frank) around with tampering.

I doubt Stamkos has been even remotely thinking about Buffalo or New York or anywhere else right now. His team was just competing for the Stanley cup and he was working his ass off to get back on the ice.
That's why I don't buy any rumors that we have an inside chance at getting him nor do I believe that he loves Buffalo so much and spending time here. Haven't seen or heard of that before the one report about us being a potential suitor for him by TSN. Then all of the sudden people are saying they heard Stamkos loves Buffalo... Seems a bit contrived to me.

They're only saying Toronto because he's from there, just like Arizona is interested in Matthews, because he's from Arizona, there's nothing concrete just people throwing poop at the wall to see what sticks, and Superstar+Toronto=clicks.
