I refer to RD all issues regarding tossing salads.

Only when the white sauce is added does RD have any answers

offense

I think there is a chance something happens on D, but I think the organization views Skjei as their big defense addition

just by the way AV was playing Skjei in the last playoff games I can tell how highly they view him

- jimbro83

Ya hes going to be the real deal. Seemed like people liked his game at the WC too..

I really hope they give Mcilrath an honest chance this year tho..

Yup and end of the year comments AV made sounds like he is a regular next year, which I assume means Yandle walks.

Should of frankin traded Yandle for a haul last deadline

Would the Rangers ever consider trading Lundquist? He would bring back a hefty return and is probably going to start slowing down towards the end of his career anyways. Hard to imagine the Rangers without him but if Stepan and McD are on the table I dont know why he wouldnt be too.

They should have done a lot of things. I wouldn't mind a rebuild. Especially if your first move is trading Stepan. But don't just hover in mediocrity.

Lundqvist has a NMC and has stated he's never going anywhere

A few of us have discussed this. But it'd be like the Penguins trading Crosby. It's not going to happen. Lundqvist is the face of the franchise and has a NMC.

say they trade Stepan for 3 significant assets and replace Stepan with Backes.

That's not rebuilding.

That's staying relevant and adding pieces at same time

This year, no. Depends what happens next year, I think then it might be a valid question. Also depends if Raanta gets more starts this year and see how he does, and if any of the goalie prospects we have have progressed.

With the lack of centers on this team now that Moore and Staal are gone and Hayes hasn't proved he can last yet, I just dont' believe they would consider moving Stepan unless Stamkos was a real possibilty

Surprised Jimbo is getting into the trade Stepan discussion. I'm still afraid to criticize Stepan unless its a game time blog and I know Jimbo isn't posting.

David Backes is 32, with the style he plays we won't be getting the best of David Backes. The pieces I'm with you on. But one of them would have to be Dumba or Brodin and the other would be Joel Ek-Eriksson.

Depends, he could go the Barry Sanders route, but I could also see him going to a legit playoff team "if" the Rangers fell apart over the next few years. Kind of like the Ray Bourque thing.

it's different now

Stepan has a NMC starting July 1, 2017

with the expansion draft coming and with the ways NMC's have hampered us recently, as well as Stepan's fat 6.5 million cap hit, I can see a lot of merits into trading him right now

I know, was just busting your balls.

He is one guy I would like to keep though. If Nash & Stepan go, could you imagine the PK then.
