The kid hasn't put the Nucks jersey on yet or played a minute of hockey with his new team and him wanting more money is gonna kill them? What if he has a tremendous season, (not as great as Hamilton or GR of course:lol
It amazes me that NHL GM's don't throw out a trade on Hockey Buzz to see what kind of approval rating they get - nyisles7
They're a rebuilding team that traded their highest 2nd round pick, and another, for a likely career bottom pairing defender that is going to end up getting $5M+ a year, long term AND traded one of their best young/cheap players to facilitate the trade.
That's not really conducive to rebuilding a successful team. Imagine if Snow traded Anders Lee, a 2nd rounder and a 4th rounder for Luke Schenn? That would have gone swimmingly. |

If we can make one very good Dman Pickup it would huge
Leddy, Boychuck, Hamonic, UFA, Hickey and Pelech/DeHaan. would be nice defense.
I think DeHaan could be good trading chip for us. I was very disappointed with him in playoffs. Another coach could probably help him find his potential. cappy is not that guy. - Spartiarti
My biggest worry will be what is Hamonics family member gets worse and then he decides he wants a trade again.

I seriously doubt he pulls that card twice. That's a one shot deal. Find something else to worry about |

I don't know how anybody can judge this deal now instead of waiting a few years to see. As far as GR goes yeah right now it looks good for the isles but if you have to wait and see with these big young D-men like everybody on here is saying then doesn't that hold true for GR as well? - Vukota
I though GR was a bust when we picked him at#5. Never liked him.
Saw him play on the OK's and at Bridgeport and every time I did, he didn't impress me. I thought he was slow but Again just my opinion.
And of course you need to wait on defensemen in general.
Even the forwards need to learn the defensive side of the game which is most young players achilles heel.
I just don't think looking at resent trades of young DMan the price was outlandish.
Also I think you said yesterday it also depends on what your team needs and whats available.

He's top 4 Dman now and will be in the future maybe top 2. He's a shutdown guy. We will agree to disagree about him.
So McCann is Lee and Luke Schenn is Guddy?
Wow I have to give you credit you are very creative! |

I didn't think Chief would get it because he is one of the few male's on this earth who doesn't like football - Vukota
Doesn't like football, loves cats, hangs out in jorts and mesh half shirts at truck stops, likes fire island...................... I'm detecting a pattern here... |

It was an example and one that's not that far off. Not sure what's "creative" about that. Lee was at one point a raw but promising young player that had relative success early on in the NHL. Schenn and Gudbranson were both top-5 picks that were bigger "stay at home defenseman". It's not really all that much of a stretch to make those comparisons. - eichiefs9
That example sucked !
Lee scored 30 goals in a season already and is big! |

When the (frank) did I ever say I don't like football?
You may be confusing that with basketball. I'd rather watch my parents (frank) than watch 10 minutes of any basketball game ever. |
