Good points but the flip side is what if he has a great year and his price and demand go up? Not saying likely or even a stud type but like you said if it's reasonable cost it would be good - Vukota
I get the thought process and I understand why Snow does it but at times to me it seems to be an unnecessary high risk move. All depends on the contract if there actually is one. If it's for a couple years at 3 million then I think it's fine. Much more than that as far as term and amount it doesn't make much sense imo. |

If it is an extension for greiss, then moving halak becomes absolutely necessary so we don't have too much cap tied up in goaltending.
I'm still a bit cautious about banking our future on one good year, but it seems that's how it's going to go. I just hope greiss doesn't turn into Chad Johnson. |

I'm in no way saying that I would bank on this, under any circumstances...but JF Berube was an AHL all-star that led his team to the championship the year before we scooped him up. It's not like we have Nathan Lawson backing up, anymore. |

Please don't trade him to Calgary. You guys owe us that much for the GR trade. |

Like they wouldn't say "Bryan who?" if Stamkos said I'll sign as long as I can get 19. |

we'll trade him anywhere that we don't have to retain salary. at least that would be my expectation.

I don't particularly give a damn about it, but I don't know any sports franchises in history that let someone take a retired number. Even Jordan couldn't get his own number back |

The more I think about it, the more I see Stamkos re signing in Tampa. That team went to game 7 of the eastern finals without him. They're a good competative squad. I can see him staying. |

Yeah however Tampa has some people to sign other than Stamos in the next couple of years and they can't sign them all. Stevie Y has some tough decisions to make. |

They have a scary list of players to re-sign this year and next.
This year's RFA's include:
- Killorn
- Brown
- Namestnikov
- Kucherov
- Paquette
and UFA:
- Stamkos
next offseason, RFA's:
- Johnson
- Palat
- Drouin
-Sustr
and UFA:
- Hedman
That's two brutal offseasons |

Sure is!
I think looking at How Vasolesky played they can shed 6.5 next year by trading Bishop . But man Stevie y has his work cut out for him. Cap doing it job.
Honestly think Stammer is not a Bolt next year. |

I don't really see any way they could keep him. If they did, they'd essentially be saying good by to probably two, if not all three, triplets. Hedman is going to command a massive raise too. |

Probably help them gain some assets they didn't get by letting Stamkos walk |

Yup, With Stamkos and Bishops money out of the equation it gives them relief and the fact that most of their FA's are restricted gives Stevie Y the upper hand, on those signings, however signing Hedman is gonna take a lot of $$$$$$$. |

Bishop has a NMC, curious if they can convince him to waive it. He could essentially demand to stay for next year and then walk for free. |

Assuming Bishop isn't a giant scumbag, they could probably just ask him to submit a list of teams that are, or may be, in the market for a goaltender that he'd be willing to go to.
Have to think DAL, CGY, TOR, ARI, CAR are all going to be looking for guys.
That said, hope he is a scumbag and refuses to be traded. Keep that market open for Halak. |
