A top ten pick in a supposedly deep draft but he could of cost us more if we where the oilers lmao. Anywho I am not saying there is a schneider to be had every year via trade but I would take my chances exploring those routes before forking out firsts on goalies like the caps do lol it has worked nicely for them but still. I still kind of think we need to get meaner on the blue line. Santini will help but I am not as sure as I once was that he will just step in.

At the same time you can probably trade Pittsburgh a fifth rounder and a good corned beef sandwich for Marc-Andre Fluery after the season. So seriously, the goaltending market does run hot and cold a bit.

I am ok with finishing higher next year if its propelled by the young players on the roster or the young ones who could be on this roster. I absolutely am not ok finishing higher though because we brought in a couple of 30+ year olds to do so that just weakens our prospect pool as much as trading away the picks and imo adding these 30+ year old free agents gets us no closer the basemnt and literally no closer to being a real threat. They would literally just make us more average in the long run. I also think its shortens our win windor to like 5-10 years once we get going instead of getting the ball rolling and having a completely young team.
