Saw something the other day saying how many millennials are libertarian and just dont know that the party exists. Ron and rand Paul should have had more support, but people dont actually look into each candidates policies anymore. They go by what they hear and see on tv and social media. So the people with polices that aren't extreme to one side or the other arnt talked about. People need to get themselves informed. Challenge their own beliefs a little. Then America could form political parties that aren't useless.

We live in a world where the idea of "safe spaces" and "free speech zones" where challenging the ideas of anyone are forbidden is not laughed out of the room. I'd love for people to challenge themselves but they don't. And I don't see that changing anytime soon. Sadly.

I'll try my best to talk you off oblivion's edge

Still undecided about whether or not I'm drinking tonight myself. On the one hand I want to be sober so I can stay completely dialed in, but on the other hand the stress level may be too much to handle.

EDIT: Girardi being shopped but won't be bought out. The Rangers don't have the spare assets to find a taker for Girardi, IMO.

At risk of sounding like a crabby old man, I blame it on the media. People joke around that 24 hour news ruined the news industry, but it's not far off. There's no substance or intellectual stimulation from mainstream media outlets, so people don't see being intilectual or inquisitive as the norm. People expect you to buy into a specific pundit's brand and consider you a biggot or a pompous ass hole if you try to form your own opinions. Like I said, we live in an era of "easy bake government" that allows for the executive branch to get away with anything it wants because no one is informed enough to check it. The legislative branch is being reduced into a formality and the judicial branch is firmly under the control of the executive.

I don't blame them. Girardi at 5.5 for the next four years is a horrid contract. Then again, so is Staal for the next five at 5.7 ... then again, so is Nash at 7.8 for the next 2. They will have to do something in the offseason.

That's a good dream. He's due for a big game. I think we see Geno Machino tonight.

I have been feeling that he was on the brink of turning a corner the entire series. But I am starting to doubt that it happens.

This day is starting to really drag. I just want it to be 8:15 so bad.

Did Vancouver just do another sutter trade? Trade for a guy that sounds great on paper and has a few nice highlights (Sutter flying down wing with laser wrist shot goal; gudbrannson highlight real hits) but are players hated by advance stat guys and are going to get paid very well.

Well nothing that happens up until this point matters. Heroes and goats will be made. Because it's the Cup.

Pretty much but on steroids. Vancouver gave up a lot more this time around than they did for Sutter.

Well, took a late lunch break today. Came back and I haven't had an email in over 1.5 hours... wtf? Usually I would be bombed. So does this mean I can go home?

NBC made the NHL shut down the Tampa Bay viewing party for tonight game due to low ratings. Of course this will be the pens fault and because the pens are the NHLs favorite team and blah blah blah more dumb poop.

I've officially gotten out of my work social event tonight. Kinda feel bad because it was really intimate with only three other people, but you know subtract me and they get to have a ladies' night, so I kind of did them a favor. Pens hockey >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> horse back riding

I like this: Pens have played 14 seven-game series in their history. Winner of Game 6 is 13-1 in Game 7.

We can't have viewing parties for away games due to NHL being a whining poop fit. So (frank) them.

No matter what happens tonight, BB and MAF are most likely never wearing a Pens jersey again.

Still not a single email. It's been 2 hours now. I'm in shock I think it's the Hockey God's giving me a sign. Easy end of the day to be ready/stress free so I can get tanked and watch the Pens win tonight.

Yeah, I'll go with that.

Most people do side with libertarians. However I can't get on board with their foreign policy. They would watch the world burn around them before helping those in need.

At best, they clip 13% on a couple hot topics, usually average about 6 to 10%.

That is not most people, that is a minority.

A hard line isolationist foreign policy is flawed, but military interventionism has caused a vast majority of the problems that we're facing today. People forget that the Rawandan genocide stems from the mostly British colonial creation that are the Tutsi and Hutu tribes, and without needless Western involvement in the Middle East that hasn't been necessary since the Cold War, terrorist organizations wouldn't be able to manipulate the Muslim populace to unite against a common enemy and fundamentalism wouldn't have the traction it has today.
