I dug up an old article from 2003 a couple of days ago and the official "scouting report" on Andrei Kostitsyn was that he was "perhaps the smartest player in the draft." I have no idea what the (frank) they were thinking.

i sincerely hope that he takes the summer to focus on building strength... not necessarily size... he isnt a big man... but if he can get strong enough to endure the physicality of the NHL I think he could handle it.... the talent is there... my concern is if he can endure having NHL d-men paste him into the boards.

Average weight of an NHL'er is 204.....so marner definitely needs a little more weight...but he's currently bigger than Johnny hockey.
