some have classified it as such. temperature and the human experience of it is a relative phenomenon.
but you know what i mean haha
just look at these teams. flyers are largely just giroux and jake. jake was off. love simmonds, but he is dependent on others. one line/one star players can be so easily taken out by quality teams in the playoffs.
as much as i enjoy poking fun at giroux. viewing it objectively, it isn't like he disappears. players suffer from recency bias. pens lose tomorrow, and i will literally want to burn my neighborhood down. but it doesn't change the answer to the names of the 2 guys who own the highest active ppg in the playoffs. and giroux isnt exactly that far behind on the list. - stayinthefnnet

i understand winning is the ultimate goal. but you cant just automatically be like well they sucked.
hypothetically, say the blues won tonight and the next game. could you look at it and say that pavelski had a poopty series? no way.
yeah, he didnt win. and yeah, the job wasnt finished. but it is a team game. |

true. and that could have some merit. but i would have a hard time saying that, individually, joe pavelski choked. |

And man that trade the Canucks just made... *woof*. - Tomahawk
There are times when you look at teams and go "WTF"
Erik Gudbranson is the kind of player whose name has always been bigger than his game. Florida absolutely sold high on him and they absolutely should've
Only takes one sucker, but damn, Vancouver should stop taking calls from South Beach

Or Jim Benning might be (very small chance) a moron, and they fleeced them in a trade for a bottom pairing defensive d man. - Mononoke
Yep. Benning's not dumb, but he's managing for an era that no longer exists
Gudbranson's a bottom-pair player in today's NHL and you don't give up youth and picks for that |

You look at what turds are floating around in front offices today...every day wake up and go to bed with a smile on your face knowing we have Ron Hextall at the helm. What a (frank)ing great GM. |

I do find it hilarious that Florida has a front office makeover to get more analytics savvy, and the FIRST thing they do is call up Jim Benning to fleece him in a trade.
Arizona's new GM probably is pissed that he gets second dibs on Benning. |

I think Gudbranson is a solid dman. I think Vancouver was desperate for defenders. But the second line is what leads me to think Schenn could be moved.
As much as he took a step forward this year, a lot of what I read and hear makes me think that Hextall could sell high on him.
For some reason I just get a feeling that the Flyers are hesitant to commit to him. |

This Flyers era is pretty much the abreu-lieberthal era of the phillies... Highly paid all stars that put up nice numbers... Can't win a playoff series... Stats advanced stats yadda yadda yadda... How bout just (frank)ing winning? - JoeRussomanno
Giroux has never won a playoff series?

General consensus seems to be that the Canucks front office, already incompetent, got more incompetent.
They traded one of their top forward prospects (keep in mind they were I believe the second worst offensive team in hockey) for an overrated bottom pairing 24 yo defensive d man who has a career high of 13 points. Oh yeah, they also added the 33rd pick in the draft, even though they are rebuilding. Jim Benning, for ya. Hexy needs to contact him pronto. - Mononoke
Gudbranson is not a bottom pairing defenseman.

He's a dreamier, less-talented/better-skating Luke Schenn.
While Gudbranson brings bruising, gritty play to the blue line, he also was a big favorite of the female Panther fans (yes, there are TONS of them). Being as tough as you are handsome can go a long way, and he had no shortage of admirers in the land of the sun. - "Dan Spiegel"
