Without that, he never survive the NHL...small players get killed every game in the NHL.

It's gimmicky by definition because it's NHL. The only way to make it non-gimmicky is to include two european teams that don't have a chance in hell.

IIHF is non-gimmicky thanks to relegation and promotion, and gives the illusion that even teams outside of the big 6 intl teams have a chance.

and that folks is why youth hockey across Canada and US has become less productive at producing competitive players... the officials are now worried about keeping the games "fair" for the emotional state of little johnny...

rather than keeping them safe by calling the really dangerous stuff, kneeing, high sticking, cross checking and elbowing.

Because you dont become good, by sitting on the sidelines and watching.

maybe we're looking at this wrong... there has to be an "advanced stats spin to this"...

eg... marner 14 pts = perron 2 pts because perron drafted in 7th round (ya that makes sense)...

eg... marner is two years (approximately) younger than perron - so now after dividing by 7 you have to add a .5 mulitplier to the points (ya that makes sense - not really)

marner 14 = perron 2 x 7
marner 14 * 1.5 * 1.5 -> 28 = perron at 2 x 7
marner TML = perron x10 because not TML

marner = 28 perron = 140

Perron wins !
