4pts in the final for marner to get the record.
I think he needs 3 assists for that record as well. - burn

Your last paragraph proves that Canada and USA start the tournament at a disadvantage. That's BS.
Who cares about competitiveness? The tournaments are about pride in your country. Which is the best hockey nation? Not a single person will be passionate for NA-U23 or Europe-other. I'd much rather have Slovakia and Latvia. Slovakia is a solid squad that gives the elite teams trouble all the time. And Latvia...you never know when you're gonna run into a hot Gudlevskis. Most importantly, both these countries have passionate fans!
NA-U23 and Europe-other are pure gimmicks. Nothing more. The real hockey heavyweight champ is decided in the Olympics, not in gimmicky, money-grab, poser tournaments. - domi_legend
The thought of adding a gold, silver or bronze Olympic medal to ones resume and being considered an Olympian for your country would have the most appeal imo. |

All players under 6' die while playing in the NHL.
If they don't, it is just luck.

nice Thunder Bay has some seriously high quality hockey! We used to attend some tourneys as A/AA. But T Bay AAA is elite but not part of OHF. Same thing in Ottawa. They don't take part in OHF. But now in Ottawa we have enough population around for an 8 team AAA league at all levels. In Kap we only had AAA in midget and we pulled from all the towns around - as far as Kenora even which is closer to you guys.
Jon CheeChoo from the James Bay coast played his midget AAA as a super under ager in our town. I got to try-out one year he was playing. I was first year bantam and my try out was more "see what you're up against next year". But F nobody knew that was cheechoo. As a D I'm solid 1 on 1. I could stop Giroux(Hearst) 9 of ten times. But then...cheechoo owned me. Maybe he won the rocket cuz of Thornton, but holy F he must've done his part. - Njuice
Marc Neron probably owned you

I am really enjoying how some people are sooooo butthurt that a 30th place team actually may have some top quality prospects.

11 of his points were either 2nd assists or assists on empty net goals.

It's a hard line. If you're 5'11 and 3/4" you won't survive, if you're 6' you are up breakable. |

That is so unbelievably dumb. That automatically gives teams outside of NA an advantage.
I mean seriously, team Europe other? Team NA U-23? This tournament is a joke. A gimmick. Olympics are the real competition. - domi_legend
The two teams are a great idea.
Canada and the US often leave youth off (remember they left Stamkos off despite scoring 50) in favour of old retreads like Heatley and Marleau.
Meanwhile we get to see poor schmucks like Slovakia and Germany get their poop kicked in and watch stars like Gaborik, Hossa, Chara, Kopitar flounder around on a team that sucks. Slovakia's best centre is like...Tomas Kopecky for (frank)s sake. How is that fair? |

Is there any word on when we will start seeing the Ottawa Senators report cards again?
I am dieing to see what grades Pageau or Zabibinjihad get. I have my own thoughts on their peformance and progress that I think will make for some really interesting discussion.
