If he's going to be the Leafs guy... then he should be at camp with Nylander, Marner, Kapanen etc. He shouldn't be trying to play physically competitive games against grumpy end of summer Doughty or Webber.

The Leafs play in the annual rookie tournament in London from September 16 to 18. With the World Cup in Toronto, the Leafs may choose to open training camp outside of the GTA (as they did last season in Halifax, NS) and could play the bulk of their exhibition games on the road, in between World Cup games at the ACC or at alternate venues such as Ricoh Coliseum.

That's true.. the best goalies in the 80s had 3.10+ GAA instead of 2.30.. that's pretty much an extra point a game!.. Marner would already be at 16pts..

I think if given the Chance he'll be at the World Cup. He'll have all 2 weeks before the tourney and 1 week after to get chemistry.

Not to mention, Marner and Kapanan will be at the prospect camp. If you care about chemistry with them, he'll probably be playing on a line with them.

Let him play against the best to improve and grow. Chemistry should be the least of our concerns right now.
