The one that bothered me the most was Trottier. He's my favorite player, and to hear he was going to coach the Rangers ...

But then I saw the result and thought it was payback for the Don Maloney GM years.

I think that bothered us way more than you guys.

It's funny because I thought it was reported that Trotts blew Sather away during the interview?

I have no idea. That was a pretty hazy period of my memory.

Pretty sure it's illegal to make candidates do that during an interview.

Patty La was the worst in my opinion.........the dirty blueskirt fans shook the ambulance when he was taken away for a concussion.

If you're going to name guys who played for both teams, don't leave out the one guy who won Stanley Cups with both teams..........Greg Gilbert.

Prior to that, I really didn't hate the Rags or their fans.

The ambulance stalled, they where giving it a push so the guy could pop the clutch.

Isles fans are so sensitive.

GG. Isles had great roles players like Gilbert and Bourne and one of my favorites Billy Carroll.

I don't even remember that game. Obviously saw tape of it later, but not sure why I missed it.

Hamonic wanting to stay killed the hall deal and halak needing surgery hurt any hopes of moving him and bailey is bailey. Garth knows with ko leaving he needs at least 1 if not 2 upgrades at wing and he doesn't have the pieces to do it via trade unless he parts with a prospect and that's rare for him. I think they are going to be forced to go the f.a. route and spend some coin. Let's pray it's a couple of big moves like the caps with oshie and pens w kessel

Edit: I know those were trades just want big names if they make sense

- Upstate_isles

I am not a fan of what I am about to write but: Hamonic (edit) SHOULD still be in play and for good reason—he's the MOST valuable asset we currently have. Garth spent the whole season making & entertaining offers to a limited number of clubs. Well, now you can expand that list to let's say, every team in the West and the bottom teams in the East(if you believe in not helping your biggest competition via trade).

Sentimental value needs to take a backseat to reality. This team is 99% losing a 60+ point player. So, now technically, they need TWO Top 3 wingers. Our 1st Pick & a Prospect is not likely enough for ONE Top 3. Garth/Cappy cannot attract highly sought-after FA's, so the necessity of replacing Okposo alone, will be a challenge. Doing anything regarding Stamkos requires a salary dump of the likes of Halak/Kuli/Bailey (praying for Grabo on LTIR).

So, the ONLY player I can identify on the roster who may yield a significant return would be Travis. And with Pulock & Pelech seemingly ready to join the club, it may be time to really do WHAT"S BEST FOR THE CLUB.

Low blow man.

Even I wouldn't do that. The correct answer would be for the arena to collapse on both teams.

- mdw7413

I don't want to see Hank hurt. I want that contract on the Ranger's books for the duration. But it's hard to see a downside of Letang's career ending.

I was at the Garden for that game. Upon leaving, we were headed to 8th Ave and walked past the side entrance. I saw them rocking the ambulance, trying to get onto 33rd St. Scumbags through & through. Which is why I will NEVER root for the Rangers—not even if they were playing the ISIS All-Stars— because I want their fans to be miserable for all time to come.

What's best for the club would probably be hanging onto a 25 year old RH first pairing defenseman that makes next to nothing for another 4 years. All you're doing is filling a big hole by creating another major one. At best it's a lateral move. It's got nothing to do with sentiment. Hamonic is arguably this team's best defenseman and trading him, unforced, would be silly unless the return was so utterly absurd that you couldn't say no.

Although, if it were an Islander getting beheaded, it would just be a 2-minute minor....

Tampa was the better team but that series was closer than the 4 1 outcome still made they blew game 3 so late. Game 4 isn't much better
- Upstate_isles

Agreed, lost the series right there in mho!
Great coaching once again, waiting for the extension

i don't think martin will be back. He will get a bigger raise elsewhere. While you would think Rangers would get him they wont. GM of rangers doesn't play for gritty 4th liners. That why they let Prust Leave years ago.

As for isles. They should make the play for Stamkos as if successful we would have one the most dynamic duo in NHL in Tavares/Stamkos.

Lucic and Erickson sound also be great adds if we let KO walk,

Snow also should try to lock in Cizikas to long term deal at better rate 2-3MM a year rather than just give him qualifying offer as he will be way more expensive to sign in few years.

that combine with Hamonic staying and Howie Rose leaving would be a home run off season.

Matt Martin HATES the Rangers... zero shot he ends up on that team. He will be an islander or on Tampa. Write it down and put my name on it.
- niteislander

He will love their pay checks, it's a business. If the isles don't want him he'll take someone else's money. The Rags I would think would be one of his choices if he can't get a deal done with the Isles.
