"They didn't feel the same need to protect Fleury to the level they have done with Murray"
The Penguins literally blocked like 25 shots... they didn't want to let anything though, so much so that they had trouble generating tangible offense because they were so concerned about playing defense
That's not how a team plays when they are confident in their goalie
Did you even watch the game???? - TheGame316
Why watch the game when you can just say stuff about it.
I have said it before and I will say it again. The Penguins have wasted many years of playoffs with MAF. Team Canada wants no part of him. Yes he is a nice guy and everybody loves him but that is not a path to success. He has a great regular season record but playing goal for this team, most any average goalie would have similar success. But if he is such an All Star Hall of Famer, why does Team Canada stay away from him like he has got the plague. Answer is they don't Trust him. And until he gets the monkey off his back (playoff meltdowns and dissappointments) they will never come calling. He has never proved that he can be THE MAN in crucial situations. Other than winning a CUP in 2009, which is like ancient history, what has he done. Not much in the playoffs that is for sure. I read somewhere today that the last 6 O/T's that he has played in that he is 0-6. That tells you something right there
The lovefest with this guy should end unless he can do something heroic and I just do not see it happening. I dare him to prove me WRONG. - holeinone
I would say winning a cup is already enough to buy him more of a break than to be kicked out of town at the first opportunity.

Having two goalies means you have no goalie
Sink or swim with ONE in playoffs.
If one goes down be fortunate to have another but don't flip flop. Be decisive
Seldom(can't recall any) see a tandem win the cup
See Ducks and now soon to be Blues of just this year alone.
Unfortunate for Fleury but Murray got them this far. - doctordizzle
Red Wings in their first of their recent Cup runs started playoffs by playing a young Osgood on home ice and Mike Vernon on the road. Once Vernon got hot, they stuck with him the rest of the way.
But they started out relying on both.
There's no rule that says you have to stick with one throughout, live or die. If a guy is clearly struggling, you get him out of there.
