Terrible call. As Kerry Fraser said on twitter, should have been 4 min each. - Antilles
How does Polak not get an instigator there?! He was punching him bare-fisted before Jaskin even had his gloves off... |

My post was about the original Sharks PP, when Shattenkirk was interfered with.
Polak clearly deserved an instigator, but giving one of instigator or roughing is pretty common, instead of giving both. |

Going into this game, SJ have the second ranked PP. Not in the playoffs, in the game. You can tell by the way the NBC crew talks about how bad the Blues PP is and how good the Sharts PP is. |

I get that... The way I saw it is he got a penalty for roughing/ cross checking, then did not stop, dropping his gloves before Jaskin had an opportunity to know that he was in a fight.
I get it. I just saw it as two separate incidents. |

I thought Shattenkirk was reacting to Wiggles coming in high on him... |

JMO, but Allen doesn't look good early. We're lucky they have missed the net on some quality chances. He looks lost. - Hull16

Agreed.
The amount of penalties the Sharts have gotten away with this game is borderline criminal. Not even judgement calls, even high sticks being allowed. |

Another home ice crap fest.
There's certainly no positives to look for tonight in Vladimir Tarasenko's game. He was the worst player on the ice.
Glad I'm not paying money to watch these games. I'd be ticked. |

How was Polak still in the game after that crap?
They called that too many men which is the biggest horse crap ever. I mean they pick and choose that crap and could not even catch Dallas playing with six players for like twenty seconds until Tarasenko got a break away and they call that?
But they miss the two blatent high sticks. There was more and all but jesus freaking christ if you are going to call weak crap one way call it both ways.
Other than that crap the Blues failed to nail it down defensively playing too passively in their zone suddenly after every lead.
Make the smart, simple play in your zone. Fabbri played good but he made another mistake going forward trying to play a cross ice backhand to the line. Looked like Oshie there.
Thorton has the ouck at the side of the net on a pp and two guys are right there, the goaltender is taking the short side.
No one take Pavelski in the low slot there? Seriously? How many times does that play have to happen over the years and it ain't obvious.
I hope Jammer is wrong about whoever wins game five wins it all. Man the Blues have terrible luck with game fives at home.
Yeah yeah Becall there is no luck yada yada.
Jones was lucky as hell.
So far in this series the team that scores first wins and the team that hits the post multiple times loses.
Allen was not terrible but there is some rust.
Once the Blues went up two to one they needed to step on throat and push the pace more not sit back. Every goal scorer should have been hungry when they watched how poorly Jones was playing.
Tarasenko. Okay well at this point he loses his ice time to Jaskin. Look I get it his being covered hard and trying to make the same two plays he always makes. But seeing him coasting in his own end down a goal and not taking the body.... I hear how big and strong he is and I only saw him make one good hit this game. If you can't score there other parts of the game you can and should do. Coasting and crap.... Well welcome to thenfourth line where everyone else has to go when they are young and struggling. Hell I might not even play him the next game if I were the coach. Might, probably would because those guys find ways. Still he starts on the fourth line. He isn't earning his ice time.
Jaskin is an offensive player who lost his confidence in the season. His confidence is back. He earned far more ice time than he played. Same with Magnus. Magnus found a lane and took a shot and almost scored. Too many players reverted back to the extra pass or Tarasenko from far out trying to go high glove. Stupid. Jones is having a hard time controlling the puck you are at the line shoot low and let the chaos hapoen in front of the net.

Allen has looked shaky and unsettled to the naked eye all game - Jason Millen
Unsettled perhaps but not shakey. Rusty to be sure. He was catching up to the flow of the game. I think he was a bit shocked on that first goal and it took him some time to settle down after it. It hit somebody's stick on the way in and just went over his glove. No biggie.
He made some good poke checks.
About midway in the second oeriod the Blues just slowed down. Look if your players can sustain the pace then your are mismanaging your bench or coaching the game with the wrong personel. |

Posted that late in the first. He looked nervous. Gotta go back to Ells and let him get the job done. A few days rest was probably good for him. |

Elliott actually looked good in warmups. I know, just warmups. But it is a good sign. I think the time off will do wonders for him.
Come on Els, bring us home for a game 7! |

Bouwmeester was awful
Parayko completely misread the play on the second PP goal
The Jaskin Paajarvi Brodziak line was not successful last night
Wingels deserved to be tossed again, high dangerous hit to the head area of Shatty and he jumped to do it? Come on that is such bush league crap
Polak attacking Jaskin, thank god he isn't a blue anymore.
Allen was shaky all night, poor rebound control
All that being said
The blues had a chance to win and didn't execute.
Paging Vlaidimir Tarasenko it is now Game 6 and you have yet to show up in this series
Lets Go
So irritated by watching that game

Other thoughts on this game:
Agree Bouwmeester was terrible in this game, as was Shattenkirk and who knows why Petro decided to stand flat footed next to an empty net and allow the Sharks to pull down his pants and take the puck away?? Bizarre.
We should see Elliot the rest of the way now. Jake Allen wasn't very good.
Lost in all this mess was that Martin Jones also wasn't very good. The Blues aren't battling Corey Crawford or Jonathon Quick here.......
I'd seriously consider benching Tarasenko. He was garbage.
Robbi Fabbri, however is a prime time stud.
Blues were a minute and a half from taking the lead into the third period and sixteen seconds into the 3rd were down a goal - wow.
When Pete DeBoer used his time out early in the second period - my message to the Blues players would have been: "Crash the net the rest of the night!!!"
If David Backes doesn't want the money the Blues offer him, Troy Brouwer can be my Captain.

Kirk Muller needs to take Tarasenko aside and tell him, if you really want to have a letter on your jersey one day, you better show up tomorrow night and make something happen. I cannot understand why he is playing with no fire whatsoever.
I have to think they go back to Elliott next game. It's nice to have a puck handler back there but first and foremost you have to stop the puck. Right now I'm more confident in Elliott in that regard. |

Acknowledging your shortcomings is the first step to self improvement.
Admit it. You're ranting maniacally...
This series has been a good one & it's far from over. I still expect it to go 7, as the Blues are as resilient as the Sharks have been, but your diatribes are way over the top dude. |
