I don't think I have ever compared Perron and Marner. I am amused by your allowing me to play Pelagius to your arguments of Christian orthodoxy. But, if you want to put words in mouth you can say "My friend Spatso might have said." In this way you give me a form of soft philosophical attribution even though we both know that I never actually said what was noted. - spatso
This probably doesn't even make sense to you either. Please. Don't spatso my Giroux with your Pageau. |

Perhaps it is more complicated than that. I have always liked the Leaf team. I grew up in Northern Ontario watching the Leafs every Saturday night with my grandfather. We both loved the Leafs. We also watched wrestling together.
I was the last in family to migrate over to become a Sens fan. I live in a small village outside Ottawa and it is all Senators. Most people still think I am a Leaf fan and the love to tease me over the Leaf struggles. I don't have the heart to take away their fun. So, I still play the role of the wounded Leaf fanatic.
In some ways it gives me a more objective perspective than a lot of Leaf fans who are prepared to organize a Stanley Cup parade each time Leaf management comes to a decision. I, as many of you know, do not have a lot of patience for those who drink the blue kool aid and then try to sell the agenda without any further thought.
I am hugely impressed by Shanahan and all the guys he has hired. They seem to be going about their jobs in a very professional way. No excessive hype, no over the top promises. But we need to still face the reality that the Leafs are a last place team. Remember Edmonton has drafted first many, many times and they still struggle. Nobody in the Leaf front office has suggested that this is going to be an easy or short process. Sometimes I wonder why fans allow their hopes to become so unrealistic. - spatso
And yet you're pleased your gm traded for Phaneuf, an over paid vet, just to miss the playoffs. You drank that all down in one shot then came here to piss it out.
And the Oilers are the only example you site of a rebuilding team with a first overall pick. As if the Islanders, Tampa, Hawks, Pens etx never happened. |

absolutely ... get it done before the draft
btw...
we need to understand if Phaneuf is now significantly better than he was in Toronto - and if so - why?
while we're at it .. we should increase the package ... definitely need to also get Pageau because he's better than Giroux.
Do It Now...
- BorjeFan4Ever
Need Perron..... He's making marner look bad. How can we get giroux pageau and Perron and cecci?
You think Matthews and marner and Reilly and nylander gets it done of we have to add our 1st next year too?

wait... wait..
who was it that compared Pageau to Giroux? - BorjeFan4Ever
I only ever compared their junior careers having watched them both play for the Piques. Said Pageau was a wizard with the puck like Giroux. However you might want to compare Pageau and Giroux numbers for their first full year in NHL. They are surprisingly similar.

Do you honestly know how much a defenseman that lead ALL in scoring at the worlds, but actually fisnished 4th?
Priceless. - burn
not just anyone can do that... its an accomplishment.
but I'd forgotten - we have Corrado - who according to a portion of the Canuckleheads is a future Olympian - so we don't need to acquire Ceci... let's stay with Olympian ... |

So we can expect Pageau to get 90 pts now? You know since they're so similar? Oh look Kadri is a Giroux now too! |

Yes, I like the deal a lot. Ceci is ready to play #3 and Phaneuf is great support for him. It is not like he will be logging the kind of minutes he did with the Leafs. |

How can you not? Isn't there a Redden Rule that is about not burying players' contracts in the A? Or something like that? |

Let us know where the parade is going... I want to be sure to get a good spot.
Ya - I know the Leafs are definitely winning the cup this year... I'm surprised the Gary hasn't come out and announced already... we'll just forgo the season altogether.
seriously, you know the Habs are winning the cup next year don't you... they are just a goalie away from contention |
