Horvat = Bergeron

That Russian kid = Chara

Demko = Rask

Plus McCann, Virtanen, Baertschi, and Ben "Norris" Hutton.

Don't you read the informative Canucks thread?

I do really like Stone. Great player, Hoffman is good too. Sens do have nice pieces up front, Turris is a good 2nd line center too. Karlsson is great on D and that's about it on D, Ceci is alright but I don't think he will be much more then a number 4. Sens defiently have some nice pieces tho.
- ClarksonDavid

For sure they have some decent pieces. To be fair, all 30 NHL teams have some decent pieces.

It's just that, since all the Stamkos talk, it seems evident most people think players reach their peak at 26-27. The majority of those players listed are either older, or about 1 year away. The Sens have to have monumental improvement this year before they are considered 'passed it" before they even got anywhere

The post I quoted and was referring to didn't mention anything about youth or prospects. Just the team and the pieces it had.

What does this even mean? Every team has some nice pieces.
- systemtool

Well idk they have some very nice pieces. Not every team has a top 3 dman in the league. They need a number 1 center badly and I really don't think they're that far off from being a very good team. That said they won't make the changes needed so it doesn't bother me

I thought the convo was generally around the Sens guys saying they have a young core or whatever..

If there was ever a year to pick 2nd or 14th, this is the year. Top 13 (minus Laine) are all busts.

It is actually funny how the leafs winning the lottery and being able to pick first had turned into a bad thing to other teams fans pretty much

They could really do with not conceding the most amount of goals in the league every year

Boeser definiatley has top line potential. The other three I would say could be very good second liners, perhaps 1 or two in the bottom six. If you dont watch them everygame like I do its tough to judge, no offence.

Not to mention we also have arguably the best goalie prospect in the world waiting in the wings.

Are you willing to trade away a gopd young goalie for less than his value again? Leivo for Demko.

Fwiw i was saying Van has some young pieces...

But im not sure Demko is the best goalie prospect in the world.. but i never watch him play so what do i know?..

Its going to take a while for the Canucks to right the ship.. Probably longer than you think..

for this team to be anything close to a contender will take minimum 5 years. Im aware of that. But I sure do like the guys we have in our system. Even Subban could be a pleasant surprise.

We also still have Rodin who's in Sweden and has apperantly played like an absolute stud this year. He'll get a long look come camp.

I dont think Jim Benning has been horrible. But I dont think he's been stellar by any means. Im torn on both our coach and gm
