I liked Hall.
I loved RNH, I still think he has close to the best hands in the NHL but is taking too much of a beating because of his size.
I thought Yak was an awful choice. He is like Matthews and a year older than a lot of the other players in the draft. Taking the old guys always increases the risk.
Draisaitl made up for the bad pick on Yakupov.
I think McDavid wins scoring title this year and Oilers go deep into the playoffs. It is a long time since NHL has had a dynasty team. Perhaps the Oilers are about to go on a run. - spatso

I like the Bozak!!! Bad contract. Awesome 3rd line center that can fill in, in a top 6 role if needed. - Ihatebrianburke

I wanted Hall and Seguin to tell you the truth. Can't believe what a moron Tambellini was. We offered Hemsky and Cogliano, they wanted Hemsky and Eberle for the 2nd pick and we wouldn't bite. |

You constantly try to convince us that you're not anti Matthews, and then you sprinkle in shots like that Yakupov comparison. |

Look, go back 3 and 4 months ago. Long before the Leafs had secured the first pick and I was saying stay away from the old guy in the draft. It is almost always a distorted result. Most years the old guy fades in the final stretch leading up to draft day (Couturier). But, Matthews made it more difficult by deciding not to compete within his own age group. Last player to do that was Radek Bonk. He was rated first overall a year out and went to play for the Las Vegas team and ended up dropping to 3rd. |

No I don't.
It is clear that Matthews is the better all around player. Not even close.
I think Laine and Puljarvi are both great players but a true #1C who plays a FULL game....I take everyday of the week.
Do you trade Kessel for Kopitar? (We couldn't even get a center for Kessel.)
For that matter do you trade Ovechkin for Crosby, Toews,...think about it...does any GM ever make a trade like that?
The answer is no. Wingers are great. Centers are mandatory. Bottom line. - underhill14

Yes agreed. Way out of hand JVR is a good player but nothing spectacular. Should be a good winger for the Leafs for awhile but he isn't bringing in a top pairing dman |
