This is what I was saying to begin with. Matthews will be a very good player, and the right pick for your team. I just happen to like Laine's game better. But because I didn't immediately bow down to the Matthew's shrine and proclaim him the greatest hockey player in the world I get attacked. I love it.

Everybody cuts them lots of slack because the hurting starts pretty big and fast once we get into regular season. But this year things are a little over the top. Last month MacKenzie reported that Matthews was no longer a unanimous pick among scouts. Corey Pronman reported on ESPN that he has now officially moved Laine to the top of his draft selection list. Things may be a bit more complex than some Leaf fans want them to be.

You bring up pronman now but I bet you won't ever mention the fact he has Marner as the 2nd best drafted prospect and Nylander as the 3rd hey? I like Pronman he's one of my favourites. He's honestly the only credible guy I've seen have Laine number 1 though.

This is entirely wrong. It is not trolling if you engage in honest and sincere dialogue. It seems to me that Leaf fans should be revelling in the special attention that comes with the #1 pick. Talking about the draft is the most fun thing to do when your team is not in the playoffs. In past years Edmonton fans have been great in joining in on the debate over the first pick.

Leaf fans are way too cautious and defensive. You really should be enjoying this moment.

It's not complex at all. Like I said before. Regardless of how good Laine is, Matthews is the right pick for the leafs. It reminds me of the Yakupov draft. He was not the pick we should've made. Murray was the player we needed but Katz stuck his big jew nose in there and made an executive decision to grab the flashy new winger, even though we already had Eberle. Toronto has plenty of good young wingers, so they should take the center

I really like Marner. Not nearly as sure about Nylander, seems to be too fragile. But Pronman is not the first to break in the direction of Laine. MacKenzie reported that Matthews was no longer the unanimous pick among the TSN touting panel, some scouts had switched over to Laine and this was before the World Tournament.

The pick never is a sure thing and there are no guarantees.

Theres not a single team that would take Laine over Matthews and you all know it.
