I am thinking maybe you guys should try to trade Sutter and a top prospect for Bonino! I digress.

You guys still happy with that trade? If I recall Sutter actually played pretty decent before he got hurt.

- DuranDuran

Sutter is fine & fits our plan better. He brings more to the table.
Bonino has a Kessel to play with or this convo would not exist.
Vey is our latest Bonino & no big risk at that.
We have bigger issues to tackle.

This would be fine and I think it needs to happen. JV of course being the maybe as if he has a stellar camp and start to the year they will keep him up again. At least we'll have Higgins and Burrows if JV and JM are in Utica…

- LordHumungous

If we have Burrows and Higgins on the roster there are no words that would explain the calamity known as the Vancouver Canucks. Having a 4.5 million fourth liner is stupid beyond words.

JM and JV need to come to camp and surpass the level of play of last year. If they are in the same ballpark of talent level then they need to be sent down to develop their skills. They need to be the best player at the spot they are battling for.

Rome was not built in a day. JB has cleaned house pretty good.
Give it time & more changes r yet to come for sure.

Bonino is playing pretty well but I agree Sutter brings more defensive savvy which is needed.

Is Dubois the consensus pick at #5? Any chance you go off the map and take a Dman?

Dubois will go top 5. No. Trading down if a good offer is the other option.
D can be picked in later rounds & groomed. They r harder to judge & need time.

I am giving it time, but there is still no reason to have Higgins and Burrows on your roster, that is No Direction

Take the number 5 and run. There is no true number one game breaking Dman this year.

Tkachuk or Duboise will be a nice addition

That is another three years away. Benning will be gone before the contracts.

So fired if he doesn't make playoffs next year? The year after?

lol…for sure.

I'm sure JB will figure something out. Injuries are gonna be another massive problem for this team next year IMO so it will be interesting to see what JB does to cover that.

I don't see either on the team & sent to Utica if not traded or a waiver pick up.

Not that doesn't go for Babcock. Shannahan has been clear that there would be a complete tear down and that is proceeding. Vantel was suggesting that Benning's is gone if no playoffs soon. That is unfortunate.

Everything easier in East compared to you rugged mountain men.

Teardown is done. Remains to be seen where it leads yet.
JB won't be gone anytime soon. WD will be under the microscope more & more. Coaching is key here while we retool/rebuild. JB stated we need more depth & experience & its fault. Expect him to address that soon.

Well out here the 3 Cali teams r tough to beat out. The Central is deep.
That leaves a wildcard for everyone else to compete for.
Out East a widcard or top 3 division finish can be had easier.

Like I said I like Benning but he takes a beating in the Media and on social media for a few of his trades and signings.

There has already been talk in the media about sharing duties with him so looking at it from every angle that doesn't sound to me like a happy ownership.

Even at the exit meetings Linden did not come out with Benning. It could be nothing at all , who knows.

If the choice is there I take tkachuk....he comes from the london knights system which has consistently produced many many great players. That tips the scales in his favor as he'll be a slam dunk good player.....history has shown that from that system.

I don't think there will be a choice.
One will get taken at 4th (i think Tkatchuk)
and one will be available at 5th.

edit:
I think Edmonton will package their 4th pick with a player to get some help on D.

I think this is the biggest challenge your franchise faces - stuck between a real rebuild and a dream of the playoffs. If Benning's can't decide or isn't allowed to follow one path, you guys are screwed.

Coming from a fan of a team who treaded water for 20 years I don't think you have a leg to stand on here pal.
