I'm sure JV and JM would have looked great if they were sent back to Jr also.
- VANTEL

Possibly. I didn't follow JM much in junior however I watched JV a lot here in Red Deer when he played for the Hitmen vs the Rebels. Always thought there was a bit of an issue with JV's effort level. Doesn't look like much of that has translated to the NHL level however a year in Utica probably won't hurt JV. Then when injuries hit he can come up and impress.

I have no problem sending him down to show him what life out of the NHL looks like. It will be a good driving incentive

Any young guy, you need to get rid of that culture of entitlement that has been festering on this team for decades.

I wonder if this off season anyone has requested a trade. I imagine a certain goalie has ( speculation).

I don't think the entitlement is coming from the young core.

I doubt it. He likes Vancouver. I think everyone is frustrated at the season we had.

You could look around the nhl at other names. Leon Drisaitl being sent back to Juniors mid season helped his game, maybe not an attitude issue but not usually normal to send a guy back after 37 games played.

Jonathon Drouin! Whether it was his agent making decisions for him or not. Certainly gave him a new appreciation in TB.

Back to Buffalo??? they have 4! 3rd round picks and probably don't need a bunch more prospects.

Brouwer or Boedker would be fine but we need to take a big pass on Eriksson.
- LordHumungous

So it's settled. JB will sign Eriksson.

If Benning can trade Miller I'll stop calling him 'trader Jim' ironically.

Anaheim will likely move on from one of their goalies. They could run with Khudobin and Gibson for the year. Possibly add Miller for at the TDL?

Also, all this talk of Nucks having interest in Russell? No thanks. Please no.

The rumour was started by TMZ's Botchford, so it has zero legs. You're safe.

It will be interesting to see how they spin that, into measurable results.
- VanHockeyGuy

It's not something they'll be able to quantify until down the road, building is a process that takes years to accomplish.

I've always maintained they need five good years of drafting, not to mention three years of development for each draft, before you're going to see the Canucks compete again.

Signing a Steven Stamkos obviously expedites that process though...pipe-dream, sadly.

I have to go back and listen to that interview again, I thought it was suggested to him by Pratt, who heard it mentioned by someone else... and Botchford didn't endorse it. fwiw.

I thought he waffled for a moment but then ended up saying he'd prefer a home town discount with Hamhuis over Russel.

Jason Demers is who they should target.

I thought the samething until seeing him play in the memorial cup games.

Ktachuk skating needs a lot of work.

Dubois is probably a better fit...big potential 1 C. Although Tkachuk is a nice conselation prize
- CanuckDon

I so rarely agree with you, I'm tempted to change my stance
but yes either player will be great.

I like Demers and think he would be a solid addition to our top 4, I hope they are able to bring both him and Hamhuis back, giving us a solid D again.

I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a pretty fat contract though.

He still needs to work on his skating, he has a lot of impressive skills, skating isn't one of them.

Helllooooo!

I'm back home in Vancouver after a long travel day yesterday, with plenty of praise for Chris Tanev in his World Championship gold-medal debut:
