Which makes you an amateur spat scouting amateur players...no offence, but it's one tournament. Go with what the professional scouts say. Year after year the Mackenzie draft revisited is pretty close, with a few exceptions.

Yeah tough to tell at this point. I am guessing they will go with Matthews but Winnepeg might "win" at the draft. In theory Mitch Marner plays center and the Leafs are sold on him. Adding Laine with Mitch would be a great start to a top line. I like the top 4 players. They will be great additions to the respective teams. I am banking on the Oil taking Thachuk. Great winger/center who plays a physical high skilled game. Too much focus on the Fins, I think this has left Thachuk and Dubois underrated. Obviously Laine is a great player but I think they play a different role.

I would love to see the Oil sign 29 year old Shipachyov. Seems like he is right in his prime and might be a great addition. Worst case he plays third line but he might have the talent to fill out the top 6. He is a left shooting center but he can play wing. If the price point is good that is.
