I was really surprised how this board didn't rag on Lehner during the season. Most changed his mind about him after plenty of Preseason prejudice. Even after a bad game or two. Not willing to call him a bubble boy yet, seeing as his leg injury wasn't even healed yet. Here's to hoping we've got a healthy Robin for the start of the season, see what he can really do.

The fact that he's never played more than 36 games in a season is still very concerning.

He's always been a backup though, was never the guy in Ottawa. This past season was his chance and an unfortunate injury to his ankle kept him sidelined. I'll give him a full year to see what he can do before I judge.

That's the problem. He has yet to be available for a full year to see what he can do.

I'm willing to give him this coming season, if he's injury riddled then its time to look elsewhere and keep him as back up

Trade for the rights to Barrie (3rd this year and Conditional 2nd in 17)
Sign Yandle
Trade for Eberle or Hagelin

Eberle/Hagelin
Barrie
Yandle

Barrie is an rfa, won't get his rights with mid level draft picks.

Wouldn't be surprised if our future starter is Peterson or Ullmark. Both have NHL caliber potential.

Cool article about the "alma mater" that is Kenmore Middle and it's closing coming up.

I know, 30+ goal scorers are never needed.

TSN's top 30 UFAs.

http://www.tsn.ca/stamkos...nhl-free-agents-1.492995?

Name your top 3 and why. Don't include STAMKO

Yandle - Big need. Better suited for Ozone starts and PP. Good possession, bad shot suppression.
Okposo - Big need. Still in his 20's, can actually score points, good possession, decent shot suppression, Eichel needs a real winger. Still don't know if Ennis can do it.
Demers - Underrated dman who could realistically pair with Risto. Quality 2 way dman, very reasonable price. Good possession and suppression.

He's still young for a starting goaltender. Most don't really grab a hold of the starting position until their mid 20's, which Robin is just really entering. he was brought up in an organization that had a pretty solidified goalie position in Craig Anderson. The Hamburgler stole the show last season, so there was no reason in keeping three. No, he hasn't shown much at the NHL level yet, but at his age, fine. Injuries are more concerning than starts at this point. He's clear of his concussion that really (frank)ed his conditioning and likely resulted in his leg injury.

Such an amazing show. I went back to start watching them over shortly before this latest season started since the wife just hopped in to watch last year. I only watched the 1st episode though (she went to bed), but man was I surprised where it all started (knew the very end of that episode, but had forgotten some of the other stuff).

It's now getting past "setup" time for the current season and all hell is gonna break loose.

Kessel is doing now what Vanek did in his first few years. Playing well and scoring a lot on the 3rd line. He is basically a carbon copy of Vanek.

Because you know scoring...

I just don't understand it.

Look what happens when Kessel doesn't have to be THE GUY like he was in Toronto. He just goes out and plays. Oh yeah he's really good too.

O'Reilly and Eichel will be THE GUYS here. Oh and Stamkos too if that happens.

But no I don't want Kessel. I don't get it.

Wouldn't mind Soupy for 1 or 2, might be one of my 1st targets in the secondary market. Lucic is declining. We might regret his next contract. Good player to have, but for what he wants, I don't know if it's worth it.
