The only way to judge what a player may do is the near future is to look at his play/trends in the recent past. Nothing is absolute, but you can use the past to theorize what will happen in the future.

more or less...its just another tool used to evaluate players at the pro level

This is the first offseason in a while where I have just about zero interest in any free agents.

I mean there's Stamkos and Lucic but they'd have to move mountains to make those contracts make sense.

the 2017 UFA class is looking pretty solid also, maybe thats the year Hexy signs a stud.

Notable names include:
Jamie Benn
TJ Oshie
Brent Burns
Dmitry Kulikov
Kevin Shattenkirk
Victor Hedman
Erik Gudbranson

Theres also a ridiculous number of RFA, its insane how many deals will be potentially given throughout this year and next offseason

Notable names include:
Ryan Johansen
Reilly Smith
Tyler Johnson
Ondrej Palat
Jonathan Huberdeau
Evgeny Kuznetsov
Alex Galchenyuk
Tomas Tatar
Mika Zibanejad
Nail Yakupov
Alex Burmistrov
Nino
Leon Draisaitl

then again, with the shortage of FA forwards, guess we may not sign anyone. what happened to the days where there were like 10 solid free agents that could be signed. i look at the lists and want very few players available

I had a bit of interest in Justin Williams at the right number if we had cleared a little cap room. We didn't.

I'd say about 75 percent of those named in this post will be signing a long term deal with the team they current play for at the moment.

There are a few guys I like a little more, but the problem is those guys are going to get paid if they hit the market. Loui Eriksson and Frans Nielsen are very good support players, but they are going to get paid by somebody

A nice little piece about where Defenceman stack up in breaking up zone entry vs allowing carry ins vs causing the attacking player to dump the puck in, just for this playoff season.

Ghost did very well

Amac was at the bottom

Would anyone have any interest in Patrick Wiercioch. Had a bit of a down year but only 25.

Maybe hit gold like on Del Zotto

Ghost attacks the puck in the neutral zone
AMac retreats back towards his goal line once the player crosses center ice.

But Ghost stinks because of shot differentials, or some such poop.

I'd bank on Ottawa not qualifying him and then pursue him as a UFA. Unless they can do something like trade Read for his rights.

So, yes, mild interest.

I have read they won't QO him.

But I would see if I could move Read for him.

Well, if they don't intend to QO him, they'll take basically any deal (of value) they can for him.

Re: White

Any more than 3 years, 1.25 million, let him walk. You can't be overpaying 4th line players.

I think QO would have to be at 2.7. I could do that on a one year deal for a 25 year old dman.

6'5" LH shot

Could be a reasonable risk
