Lot of conspiracy theories and crazy talk in here tonight. I'll try to provide a little good news from some grade 8 kids.

Backstory my son had a birth defect that was supposed to prevent him from ever walking. He had a surgery done before he was born that allows him to walk and run. He doesn't do either well but he's a trooper and has the heart of a lion.

Today was track and field day at the public school and when I got home he was wearing a first place ribbon proud as a freaking peacock. He got it from the 100 yard dash and he was fully aware that the other kids purposely sandbagged it so he could win as he over heard them whispering. I asked him if it bothered him that they let him win his response was, if they think enough of me to let me win a race I'll think enough of them to wear this proudly.

When it was presented I guess he got a standing O. Pretty cool group of kids.

The thing with Kessel too is that it makes sense for Pittsburgh to go all-in right now, they have to, it's the Crosby/Malkin window. The timing with where the Leafs were in a cap system was a totally different situation.

Exactly. Bernier is/was untradeable. I imagine Bozak was as well (gotta think they've tried). JVR will most likely be traded in the future. That's why they had to trade Phil. Plus, I don't want to imagine what a 30 year old Phil would look like

signing Bernier to that contract and signing Arcobello were the two dumb things this management team has done. The second half that Bernier had during the 14/15 season was horrendous, and he continued that crap without missing a step at the beginning of 15/16.

if Babcock genuinely has confidence in Kadri (and it appears he does) and the ShanaLouCock connection believes that they have a shot at Stamkos... then Bozak goes at the draft.

It's pretty crazy we live in a world that that is possible......

It is a wild deal, the surgery is called in utero repair, take the baby out his was at 20 1/2 weeks in the womb, patch him up and then put him back in. If you google hand of hope that is not our son but same surgery with the same doctors etc. Pretty wild stuff.

Yeah. What bothered me earlier was the usual suspects rehashing the trade. Some fans were intelligent enough to know any deal sending Kessel away wouldn't return what we hoped, others want to believe there was or would eventually have been a better deal.

Well because I liked Phil and I don't care much for Bozak, JVR and Bernier.
If they were going for culture change why did they even re-sign Bernier and I care for him the least so It kind of pissed me off.
