I think the top 20 are a lot closer this year than last year, but yeah there isn't the same sort of high-end talent available this year.
- PepinoPamplemousse

You never really know until enough time passes.

The McCleod's, Brown's and DeBrincat's are enigmas. I'm very interested to see how it all plays out. I'm sure whoever drafts McCleod will say they think that he's potentially one of the most skilled kids in the draft.

Sean Day has been speculated to go anywhere from late 1st to the third round.

In years past Larkin and Barzal have either been passed over or come out of nowhere.

If Sean Day is there when our second 2nd rounder comes up I would take a chance on him. But no sooner.

Washington's second, or the 31st pick?

Edit: never mind, I didn't see the first "second"

I'd probably take a gamble on him in the late second. Such a weird player. All the physical tools in the world, and yet...

30 teams will be banging their heads against the wall over him until he's taken. Seen him play live on numerous occasions. I'd pass till late second but if he goes higher I'll be a bit dissapointed/relieved that he isn't our problem. He's like Lindros body clone on D with Afinagenov's hockey sense.

He's a big body and a good skater. That's it.

I would like to see Babcock work with him. I think he's worth a gamble with late 2nd or one of our 3rds.

Really hope Leafs take top rated goalie with either Pitt's 1st or our 2nd.

That's sort of what I was getting at. His hockey sense is missing. But that body and skating ability could be deadly if he ever did figure it out. The kinda guy I think is worth gambling on with a late second/early third

He's not worth it that early.

And Babcock isn't gonna work with him (much) until at least 3years from now, by then may be too late.

Leafs are handing Komarov the keys to the draft table this year. They're discombobulated as (frank) now because of all the parody in expert draft rankings.

1998 was even better for the Detroit model ..draft 6 tomato cans then Datsyuk ..then 3 more tomato cans..for the exclamation point
- senstroll

Ahhh Datsyuk: Detroit model citizen and great franchise player. Until he does to the Wings what Bush did to the US economy. He plays in Russia next year and his salary counts against Detroit's cap.
