no you're not making it up....I posted that as well. thats what he had.

No denying it was a good trade...I believe Fletcher did it....just to do something.

this whole 1st overall thing is really interesting...

Matthews sucks already - I mean he's clearly not anywhere the player the Laine will be - obviously - and the Leafs haven't even selected him yet.

this is awesome.

when is the appropriate time period to declare him a bust?

- BorjeFan4Ever

For some Leaf fans it will be if he tops out at a point a game player, because they were expecting him to lead the league in scoring every year.

Or, if he eats a hot dog OR is awkward with the media OR he defends a guy like Phaneuf for taking too much heat

Anyone else see Hornqvist shove the equipment manager out of the way when he was going to the dressing room?

Matthews is the full package deal.

we don't need a complimentary player in Laine at this time...

Marner, Nylander, Kadri, JVR, maybe Stamkos - these guys will all produce goals.

Not to mention Uncle Leo and a number of prospects coming up who look impressive...

we NEED that #1 C who plays solid both ways.

it's a no doubter IMO...there is my 2 c for whatever it's worth!

Based on what the Leafs "Currently" have to work with, I think the Defense Core for this upcoming season should look like this:

TOP 6
o Morgan Rielly - Left ('94)
o Jake Gardiner - Left ('90)
o Connor Carrick - Right ('94)
o Nikita Zaitsev - Right ('91)
o Matt Hunwick - Left ('85)
o Martin Marincin - Left ('93)

**7th D-Man**
Battle between the below 3 players...
o Scott Harrington - Left ('93)*would have to really impress during preseason**
o Stuart Percy - Left ('93) **I think the Leafs will look to trade him this Summer**
o Frank Corrado - Right ('93)**think the leafs will try to sneak him through waivers**
All potentially trade-able if they dont want to risk losing them via waivers.

Returning to AHL:
o Rinat Valiev - Left ('95)
o Viktor Loov - Left ('92)
Because the Leafs have the ability to be send both to the AHL....You use that option. Both Could be called up during the season--if playing well with the Marlies.

this is exactly why I have zero interest in politics and don't care what so ever, it's such a joke from start to finish

The extent of my political knowledge (or caresi) is that i know we have a prime minister, not a president.

IF?

what was that thing that Einstein said?...

ya... Bernier - expect the questions to start something like

"he can't be as bad next year as he was the past year can he?"...

"he was pretty good after Reimer was traded"...

then comes the convo about "how he seemed to be better late in the season".... (coincidentally the same part of the season wherein all the Leafs newcomers were labelled as proving nothing because its nothing season)..

yup .. gotta luv it - "surely Bernier will be better"....

the only silver lining - and its a good one - there's no way that Lou or Shanahan or Babcock would think this way... even if the delusional among the fan base think it is possible.

Yes if your GM and his staff are thorough . Good GM's hit on 6 and 7 round picks . Mr Murray's strong point is scouting and talent assessment
- Maximum Signal

That is how the top teams stay on top . Do your own research . Mr Murray has hit in lots of organizations. That is where he developed his rep .

- Maximum Signal[quote=Maximum Signal]
Also got a ring in Anaheim . Has lots of respect amongst peers as Talent evaluator . Two Scouts I know well told me that. Just none from you so Be it . Still has a better resume than you I bet . Has done it all his life . Born into a hockey family.

You do realize he was a big factor in bringing the supposed best coach in the NHL to the actual AHL then eventually the NHL? You do realize he was a big factor in the Perry/Getzlaf draft for Anaheim as well right? He was also pretty instrumental in drafting yearly Norris candidate Erik Karlsson.

Lol do your research next time. He's worked for more than just the Sens.

You sir are the only jabroni in these parts.

Did the equipment manager have to leave the room and ended up missing his vote?

I find it weird how I was pretty much the original Bernier hater yet I'm the one saying they should keep him for another year.
