Missed in this article is that the Leafs will have first shot at players going through waivers and can likely grab a dman or goalie with more talent than a lot of the players discussed. Instead of concern, article should be discussing potential upside of talent pool upgrading. Many of Leafs dman prospects are not going to be NHL quality.

Love the way Connor Carrick has been playing in the AHL but he is only 5' 11". A tad small and likely the reason for Washington agreeing to include him. Remember Ian White on the Leafs, who was 5' 10" and a solid player but deemed too small. Deja vu

so the fans are dumb dumbs because they thought Kessel should be traded?

What does that make Shanny/Lou/Babcock.....dumb dumbs too?

Time to rehire and rebuild the rebuild?

Holy poop... he actually ended up being charged for that? I remember seeing the footage from on the floor and laughing about the "attack".

Steen - mistake
Strawman - mistake
Rask - mistake
Colborne - who gives a (frank)?

- Phenom

Its funny, for Steen, people complain we didnt wait long enough for him.
I believe it was two years after the leafs traded him that he finally broke 50pts.
The year he was traded he only had 4 pts in 20 games. The three years prior to that he was 35-45 pts player (not bad) but as systemtool already pointed out....where are we going to find another player like that.

for real? Orr was a (frank)ing beast vs the Bruins in the playoffs. Lots of nice hits on Chara. Kept Lucic in check. fought Thorton etc

I thought he was decent

steen was traded because he started the year with like 4 points in 20 games (making this stat up but it was a bad start). that's a perfect example of not being patient.

I think a jump similar to what Buffalo made last year is most likely. Probs will be a 80-85 point team and hopefully get lucky in the Lotto again.

If the goalies are poop again we will be in the bottom 3 again.

Matthews continues to impress.

- Lucas.Neilson

this whole 1st overall thing is really interesting...

Matthews sucks already - I mean he's clearly not anywhere the player the Laine will be - obviously - and the Leafs haven't even selected him yet.

this is awesome.

when is the appropriate time period to declare him a bust?
