Heres the full Kessel interview from TSN. Its the actual broadcast, not recorded off a TV screen.

Every time I think of Hagelin I think of that insane poster who came in and wrote a novel about how Hagelin is a psychopath and we shouldn't get too attached to him because he's a sadist and will screw us over on purpose for pleasure. Not sure if he was a Rangers or a Michigan fan but it was (frank)ig hilarious
- Victoro311

I remember that too. I think he was also saying he would just end up breaking our hearts or some sh!t...

It was easily the weirdest post I've ever read on hockey buzz. He was convinced Hagelin was a cereal killer or some poop.

Reading through the comments when the Hagelin trade happened is comical.

Refresh my memory. IIRC, a lot of us thought Perron needed to be sent packing because absent his first 2.5 weeks here, he sucked ass. I thought many liked the Hagelin deal.

Gotta give credit where credit is due. Kunitz and Cullen are old and he was right about Plotnikov

Well, in fairness to him, at the time when he posted this, a lot of this was true. Then the coaching changed happened; Hagelin was brought in and the HBK line took flight. Before that, Bonino wasn't good. PK wasn't doing what he is doing now.

He was right about Plot and Bennett and still is. He is right about Maatta too unfortunately.

Not at the time because if you remember Hagelin had 9 points with the ducks by the time he was traded and was on the books for 4 years at 4 mil. It was definitely a very risky play. I wasn't thrilled with it at all because I thought Perron was doing a lot of things right and was going to break out soon, but I understood the logic as an asset strapped team turning a top 6 winger that was going to walk on us at the end of the season into a top 9 winger we had locked up long term. It was risky but it panned out, thank the Lord.

When someone makes that many negative claims at once, a few are bound to be right, or almost right.

No, it was about 50/50. According to the people upset with it, giving up Perron and a "defensive prospect" in Clendening and taking a guy with term was a bad trade. Aussie Penguins and Dcoms (who hasn't posted here in a while) were the big advocates against the trade.

Even if Hags wasnt producing as much as he is I'd still want him on the team. His defensive game is stellar and he's one of the best PK'ers I've ever seen the Pens have. Ever.

That's cus Aussie was obsessed with "dinger" and Dcoms automatically assumes any prospect that isn't in the lineup is the savior of the team and the coaching staff are being idiots for not playing them.

Hagelin wasn't liked at first because he had term. I remember being hammered at 3am or so and seeing we made the trade. At first I was ecstatic. Woke up the next day and was still pumped on the trade. Oh and we also gave up the great Adam Clendening. That was too much for some to handle.

That comment was long after he was acquired. I think it was at the beginning of the HBK dominance in March. Maybe late February.

found this gem by our aussie when we got hags:
rutherford is a (frank)ING JOKE!!!

Hagelin is worse than Peron, but JR throws in a capable young Dman just because!

Wow

Dinger has completed one of the best breakout passes that any of the D have (some haven't even), plays 2 games & is benched for guys playing average.

Oh well. Where's Sammy, I want some pessimism! Hagelin is garbage this season from what I've seen (reported - don't listen to or watch Ducks games)!

(frank) if I'm the Ducks GM, I'm warming up a coffee for a Malkin trade for a 2nd round pick!

Yeah I had just come back from a long night of drinking in Nashville. I wasn't pissed or extatic. I was mostly confused and wasn't super thrilled about it. It was a very even kiel reaction for how drunk I was.

Perron sucked. There was no denying that. Hagelin was in a terrible position in Anaheim. As someone brought it up, people were more pissed about some random eighth/ninth Dman being sent packing in that deal along with Perron. What was his name again? Exactly. He never played a single game for Anaheim; was released not too long after ... claimed by Edmonton, which has the worst defense in the league and only played 20 games for them. So ... people got up in arms for losing a Dman that couldn't see much action on the Edmonton blueline. That should tell people about Clendenning.
